    Community Content Specialist

    We are searching for a full-time Specialist, Community Content to join our Content Communities team, a central team based in our Content Agency Headquarters in Amsterdam.

    As a Specialist, Community Content you will be a part of a small and dynamic team responsible for encouraging and helping obtain content from creators who can help us scale authentic content in

    In this role you will assist in tasks to ensure optimal delivery of tangible content across multiple surfaces like our product Travel Communities as well as other content channels and platforms like Social Media or Genius. You will work closely with the Senior Specialist and your manager to execute a well defined plan to encourage content creation from external contributors that are part of a community.

    This is a junior, hands on position, with a focus on execution of plans created by the Senior Specialist in the area, the Global Content Creators Manager and/or the Director of Content Communities. You need to be able to work under pressure, following deadlines and be a collaborative team player.

    You will assist in tasks like creating content calendars, calls to action and methods to obtain content from contributors in several forms: photos, text, videos and more. Among your responsibilities you will also help deliver community generated assets across the business. This is a new content source for Booking so the ability to be innovative and think outside the box with business goals in mind is important.

    There will be other planning tasks, where your strong coordination skills will be required, including asking critical questions to inform project briefs, ensure a smooth integration of new projects and drive stakeholder-facing processes.

    You should have demonstrable experience working in content and content strategies ideally in crowdsourcing environments and preferably with an editorial background.


    • Execute a content plan for community creators in tandem with the Senior Specialist and your manager
    • Advising the team, help defining briefs and participating in brainstorms to provide content inspiration
    • Create and/or encourage engaging content for all platforms, including text pieces, calls to action, social media posts, newsletters, and videos
    • Ability to write short copy in English
    • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed
    • Ensure that the content being developed is organised, structured and labelled effectively
    • Research travel trends and ideate on content for them
    • Good understanding on what makes content engaging and of how to increase content creation through different tactics
    • Help identifying innovation opportunities: on content, processes or services
    • Give feedback to teammates and influence overall quality
    • Good storyteller who understands what makes good content
    • Contribute to the overall community strategy and be able to advocate for the business with communities of content creators and for content creators within Booking.
    • Taking ownership of additional projects & tasks as assigned
    • Coordinate with Marketing, PR, Product and other teams
    • Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends


    • 2+ years of experience on content generated from communities ideally with experience on creating content with communities or groups of people
    • Understanding of metrics
    • Hand on person who works towards deadlines and follows plans set by the team
    • Operational excellence following through with objectives and tasks
    • Excellent communication skills with fluent spoken and written English
    • Good time management skills
    • Cultural experience of working particularly in a global environment
    • Proactive, entrepreneurial and results-oriented with a positive attitude and the ability to solve problems creatively
