This is driven by, among others, a strong Commercial department spread across geographies, i.e., Utrecht, Singapore, and Boston. We are now looking for a Commercial Controller who acts as the core financial link between the Commercial department and the business to support the growth and revenue of these regions and #MakeItHappen. REPORTING LINE AND KEY STAKEHOLDERS The Commercial Controller forms a team with the Manager Controlling and the Chief Financial Officer. They work alongside the Supply Chain & Manufacturing Controller and Project/Management System Controller. This team, therefore, consists of (finance) professionals who are responsible for their respective function, but at the same time collaborative team players within the Finance department. As a true business partner to the Commercial department and management, an intense working relationship is inevitable; hence the need to develop in-depth knowledge of Sales and Marketing activities and maintain close communication with the Commercial's managers and team members. Essentially, the Commercial Controller gets into the mindset of this organization and produces valuable inputs for function-specific efforts, i.e., Partner Programs for Ultimaker's resellers and distributors. Sharing and discuss weekly updates with the Commercial department and monthly reporting to the management. WHAT DOES YOUR SUCCESS LOOK LIKE? With your stellar understanding of data, combined by strong business acumen, you figure out the specific needs of the business and analyze historical and present facts to come up with continuous business improvements, new initiatives, and creative business cases. You build deeper, fact-based, predictive insights in the context of strategic development and financial performance management. These predictions will be used to help management in decision-making, where you then translate those corporate strategies into business-level financial plans and working innovatively, creatively, and efficiently with the Commercial team. You are regarded as the partner of the Commercial team and management in driving the business forward. Day-to-day deliverables include:
Build a common data foundation to create valuable insights
Clarify data definitions
Manage costs and direct capital to the right growth opportunities
Drive an agile forecasting process
Reduce reporting lead time with standardized, first-time-right reports in PowerBI
Deploy new digital technologies
Contribute to closing the books activities
Set up a scenario-based business case process to support decision making
WHAT DO YOU BRING?
About 10 years' experience working closely to the business
Commercial savviness: a prior exposure to channel Sales and/or Marketing team is major advantage
Min. bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal business English skills
Advanced PowerBI, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Excel proficiency
Experience driving business in a scale-up environment
Experience in manufacturing industry is preferred, not a must
Experience working with multicultural, interdisciplinary teams
An analytical, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and pragmatic mindset with accurate, collaborative, diligent, and ethical ways of working
