    In this role, you have the opportunity to

    Translate unmet clinical needs into novel Radiotherapy solution concepts. You will take charge in refinement and validation of these propositions in co-creation with clinical partners and business partners in Philips. Such solutions will be designed to make a global impact on future health systems by improving patient outcomes, reducing costs, and/or enhancing medical staff and patient satisfaction in the Radiation Oncology domain.     You are responsible for

    • Delevering state-of-the-art know how on the Radiation Oncology domain to the team;

    • Using your knowledge and experience from the Radiotherapy domain to identify unmet clinical needs in Radiation Oncology;

    • Developing new solution concepts addressing these needs;

    • Guiding the creation of solution prototypes;

    • Evaluating such concepts and prototypes through clinical advisory boards and clinical collaborations;

    • Creating business value propositions in relation to the developed solution concepts.

    You are a part of

    Philips Research, one of the largest industrial Research organizations in the world, focusing on the area of HealthTech. The mission of the Oncology department is to develop innovative concepts, technologies, applications and integrated solutions in oncology with focus on oncology informatics, image-guided interventions and therapies, medical imaging, and integrated diagnostic informatics. As a Clinical Scientist Radiation Oncology, you will work in an agile way, join multi-disciplinary project teams and actively participate in collaboration with hospitals as well as Philips’ market and business teams. You will report to the department head of the Oncology group in Philips Research.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • You are a Radiation Oncologist / Radiation Therapy Technologist, Medical Physicist, Biomedical Engineer, or other Medical/Technical professional, with more than 3 years’ experience at a Radiation Oncology department in a hospital.

    • You are able to “think outside the box” and beyond the current status-quo in Radiotherapy to come up with innovating ideas for the Radiotherapy field.

    • You have experience in translating or introducing technical innovation in medical practice (such as medical physics or clinical informatics). You have a real passion for innovation in the field of healthcare technology.

    • Your strong communication and interpersonal skills plus your team spirit enables you to build lasting personal relationships: within internal project and program teams; with clinical customers; with key partners in markets and businesses; and with healthcare professionals.

    • Your experience in marketing and/or healthcare economics is a plus.

    • Your experience with industry or in an industrial work setting is a plus.
