The Carrier Management (CM) Supervisor impacts the organization by ensuring contractual and operational agreements between the transportation Vendor, Post Sales OSP (Outside Service Provider) and UPS are fully met. The CM Supervisor will actively participate in the Tier 1 Carrier Management process and impact the organizations by ensuring carriers/Post Sales OSP’s are managed effectively through a professional Carrier Management process. CM supervisor will manage based on Contract and Master Service Level Agreements (MSLA). Furthermore the CM Supervisor is responsible to define new or change existing process and procedures when required and manages on process compliance, professional business Ethics, and Qualitative output. The further development op the UPS Managed transportation product is also part of the responsibilities. The Carrier Management Supervisor will lead a team and ensure people development and career planning for the employees reporting to him/her. As a member of UPS SCS L&D Transport Europe an individual will also have responsibilities in departmental and external KPI reporting.
What do you do on an average day?
- Initiate, Manage, Lead or Contribute to transportation and Post Sales OSP projects;
- Meets customer expectations, ensuring financial, operational and contract compliance related to purchased transportation services;
- Identifies structural service issue and is responsible for the management of root cause and preventive / corrective actions;
- Monitors and manage service levels to ensure external transport provider/Post Sales OSP meet service requirements;
- Responsible for creation of business cases that support cost reduction, service improvement initiatives and new business opportunities;
- Assists with updating transportation process documentation, documents new processes and creates workflows in line with process and departmental standards.
- Education: minimum of Bachelor. Preferably in transportation or logistics or Supply chain;
- Experience: you have experience in work measurements, methods and procedures,
- operations research, finance and statistical analysis;
- Proven track record in managing transportation flows;
- Competences: you are able to work in cross-functional teams and can communicate on all
- levels in the organization;
- Flexible with working times and able to travel when required.
