Business Consultant Risk Data & Modelling
Do you, like us, appreciate the importance of reliable data? Are you keen to bring risk data management to a structurally higher level at ABN AMRO? As a Business Consultant Risk Data & Modelling you liaise between business stakeholders and data users. It is your task to understand business needs and translate them into actionable solutions in close collaboration with your stakeholders.
The role will give you the chance to develop to the full, both professionally and personally. Why not get in touch? We’d be interested to hear more about you!
As a Business Consultant for Risk Data & Modelling, you will make a vital contribution to supplying reliable risk-related data to various stakeholders in the Risk Management organisation. You will use your knowledge and skills to work with Risk Management, the business and the IT organisation to meet the specified goals.
You will support various teams in translating the Risk stakeholder data requirements into detailed data requirements and defining data quality requirements in line with BCBS 239 principles. You will assess these requirements against the terms and definitions we use and ensure that our Finance & Risk common language remains up to date. Together with the data owners, you will supply the requested data to the relevant Risk stakeholders in accordance with the specifications and the agreed timelines. You will also support building a Finance and Risk business data model together with Finance and support the data sourcing side (data sourcing teams of Finance and Risk).
Because we are bringing the risk data management process to a structurally higher level, you and your colleagues will be actively working to improve the process where necessary. Autonomous cooperation based on an agile approach will be the key to success.
Given the importance the regulatory authorities ascribe to risk management (modelling, external reports, internal audits) and the data underpinning it, this is a challenging role with a potentially heavy workload.
Your working environment
As Business Consultant you work within the Risk Data & Modelling (“RD&M”) Grid. A grid is a clearly and logically defined cluster of teams with end-to-end responsibility for one or more product groups, channels or enablers. A team is a multidisciplinary form of collaboration consisting of professionals from the business lines and the IT organization, who work together autonomously and agile towards a single goal.
The purpose of the Risk Data & Modelling Grid is to help the various departments within Risk to make their decisions, models and reports data driven, by providing insight into the data strategy & requirements, providing analysis capabilities on data, alignment of data with Finance and the delivery of data through the right data processes and systems to the Risk users.
You will become Business Consultant in the Risk Data & Modelling department as part of the Financial Risk Data team. The team is responsible for ensuring structural and tactical compliant data delivery for Financial Risk reporting and in-production Risk models. The team’s main clients are the Financial Risk stakeholders, incl. Credit Risk, Central Risk and FR&R (Financial Restructuring & Recovery). Other major stakeholders are Finance, the business, and the IT organisation. Like the other teams, yours will largely consist of young, driven professionals. Because the department is still under development, you will be expected to actively contribute to the strategy for improving the working method. The atmosphere is open and informal. We work hard, but there’s plenty of scope for enjoyment!
You have proven ability in data analytics, data management, data modelling and/or data architecture. You are energetic, with a passion for combining thinking and doing. You have a handle on what’s going on in the organisation. Client focus is the main driver behind your work within the team. You take responsibility. As well as having a strong drive to maintain your own expertise, you’re keen to actively contribute to further developing and improving the area you work in. You’re energised by transferring your expertise to others and are interested in what you can learn from colleagues with other forms of expertise.
If you think this sounds like you, check to see if your profile matches the following:
