    Brokerage Specialist

    Position Summary
    The Brokerage Specialist is often a point of contact for customers; customs; Tax authorities; CBS and other team members. Their role in the supply chain and their impact on the movement of the goods from the point of origin to the final destination is crucial.
    Key Accountabilities
    • Ensuring timely and accurate submission of customs, declarations; Intra-extrastat declarations to various authorities (e.g. Customs; Tax; CBS; etc..);
    • Assist in monitoring compliance with customs regulations; client SOP’s and company requirements;
    • Create and monitor reports on C&FT details; for Customers and internal use;
    • Handles or assists in post and pre entry work (validations on EDI);
    • Training operation support and warehouse staff in basic customs procedures;
    • Auditing files;
    • Advice customers regarding C&FT related matters;
    • Handle irregularities regarding import-export-transit declarations;
    • Participates in other projects whenever such is required.
    Other Job requirements:
    • Knowledge of Customs en VAT law and legislation;
    • Knowledge of EU legislation (transport/logistics, safety and security, economics, environment, VGEM/AEO);
    • Simplified procedures (Licenses; Domproc Import; monthly automated declarations; etc);
    • Intra-extrastatt procedures;
    • Knowledge of MS - word – excel – access;
    • General Logistics knowledge;
    • Obtain necessary knowledge of C&FT: Customs Legislation via course; seminars and regular contacts with appropriate Authorities – both written and verbally - , e.g. Customs District; CBS; Chamber of Commerce / Tax Authorities, etc.;
    • Be able to interact with Customs and officials from other mentioned authorities;
    • Flexible;
    • Anticipate problems / challenges and recommend responses;
    • Translate Customs legislation and procedures to; operational actions; IT development; etc.
    Education and Work Experience
    MBO+ Certificate declarant/customs consultant
    Experience in customs regulations, logistic
