    Associate Scientist - Value to Market

    Job Description

    IFF is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our Scent, Technology & Innovation team. The position will involve technical support for Value to Market & Proactive projects under the direction of the Technical Manager in the Hilversum Creative Center. This role will entail generating technical information to support project decision-making and customer presentations that highlight IFF capabilities. Key focus will be on Fragrance technical developments which will be used in IFF Global and Regional projects, including leveraging new Fragrance technologies and technical understanding, which clearly meet defined needs of consumers and / or customers. The outcome of this work will be new products and product / ingredient insights that provide IFF with opportunities for profitable growth.

    As an Associate Scientist you will be responsible for:

    • Conducting laboratory work for value to market projects as well as for specific proactive projects: making samples, running design of experiments, preparing and presenting test plans, conducting stability testing and reporting results, interpretations, conclusions and recommendations to different stakeholders.
    • Generating technical insights in order to deliver optimum fragrance solutions to our customers and support the strategy of the consumer fragrance category (Fabric Care and Home Care).
    • Participating in specific technical meetings and sensory evaluation panels for various projects.
    • Participating in various laboratory activities (safety initiatives, equipment maintenance planning ...etc.).
    • Reporting and documenting technical learnings from various projects and communicating with appropriate audience.
    • Support & bring solutions to answer customer technical challenges and needs
    • Conceive and design technical studies to build base formulation and fragrance ingredients understanding.
    • Conduct performance & ingredients stability studies to answer specific project needs,
    • Deliver, analyse & interpret technical and sensory data, deliver insights and make recommendations,
    • Work within a multi- disciplinary team to create business relevant technical solution,
    • Follow safe laboratory guidance and best practices.

    Required experience

    • Bachelor degree / Msc in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or related discipline.
    • Minimum 2/3 years experience in the chemical, consumer goods or fragrance industry.
