    As our new Director Commercial Training & Execution at IDEXX you will be responsible for increasing the efficiency of our Commercial Organization and delivering the milestones of our Strategic Plan. In this position you will lead the European Commercial Training department that supports IDEXX’s biggest commercial organization: The Companion Animal Group and will report directly to the European Chief Commercial Officer. Ideally, you’ll be located in the UK, Germany or the Netherlands.

    IDEXX will need to reach more customers in a more systematic way and develop a partnership that creates long-term value, for both the customer and IDEXX. This work is done by our exceptional sales force - and it’s our sales trainer's responsibility to give them the skills and the coaching support to accomplish this. This is a strategic position for our European growth plan in which you will further develop and organize a successful and effective sales training organization.

    In This Role

    As the Director Commercial Training & Execution at IDEXX it is your responsibility to lead, influence & increase the success of the Commercial Training team and therefore as a result the local team’s sales effectiveness. To accomplish this, you will successfully manage the implementation and delivery of our international training curriculum.

    • You will be leading a strategic commercial department in an extremely large market.
    • You will review, analyze and oversee strategic improvements in the Commercial Training department and their ways of working.
    • You will provide leadership and direction typically through Managers and Sr Managers.
    • You will identify and implement strategies and efficiencies to enhance customer experience and align with business operations, as well as harmonizing European commercial best practices. It’s essential the European strategy is implemented at a local level.
    • You will develop departmental plans, including business and/or organizational priorities.
    • You will work closely with the Country Managers in Europe to identify gaps and provide recommendations to the sales management teams.
    • You will align and agree with both the management team and local marketing team to create specific training plans.
    • You will also provide feedback for the continuous improvement of our centrally developed resources and provide reports on plans, activities and successes.

    What You Will Need to Succeed

    To be successful in this role, you will need extensive commercial leadership and team-building experience, as well as a proven track-record in training, facilitating and coaching.

    If you have a veterinary or medical background, this will help you understand the business quickly and therefore be a major advantage. We value a strong personality; additionally:

    • You successfully and confidently influence without authority and you have outstanding communications skills (Business English is a must have, a second or third language is valued).
    • Your way of presenting, selling skills and methods inspires a change in behaviour and you are comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
    • You are very comfortable speaking and presenting in front of a large and small audience.
    • You’re a self-starter and can be flexible, autonomous and able to travel - both in country as well as internationally. This position requires you to travel around 20-30% (when covid-19 safety allows)
