    In this role, you have the opportunity to

    As an Associate Consultant, your challenge is to collaborate on projects supporting Philips businesses, innovation programs and external companies in exploration, creating and growing innovative business. You bring sound understanding of challenges from startups, scale-ups and business model innovation to develop and deploy best practices for corporate venturing. You build and enhance innovation capabilities and processes to make new business creation scalable.

    Your responsibilities

    As an Innovation Consultant you:

    • Can work alone as an advisor, or lead a team of consultants and client team members.

    • Actively market yourself and our consulting team through seminars and articles in key publications.

    • Develop and share knowledge in your competence area to expand capabilities of the team in focus innovation areas.

    • Spot trends in your client industries and maintain a good overview of developments in your competence area.

    • Combine these insights, trends and new competences to continuously improve our service propositions.

    The department Industry Consulting at Philips Innovation Services is a dynamic group of approximately 80 consultants with a growth ambition. We work with leading clients in operationalizing their strategic ambitions in and across key areas of their business: Innovation and Operations Management taking an integral approach.

    In Innovation we support our clients in all types of innovation be it in business models, products, services, solutions, or process. We work with our clients on key aspects for success: innovation strategy, new business creation, business model innovation, roadmapping, architecture, and innovation process improvement including IT solutions for innovation, lean and open innovation. We work with all Philips businesses worldwide as well as with external companies.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • A Master’s university degree in a technical, science, business or related discipline.

    • At least 5 years experience leading innovation and/or consulting projects in technology industries.

    • Passion for new business creation with hands-on approach and entrepreneurial mindset to make new business work.

    • New business creation skills and expertise including business development, business model innovation and financial business case development.

    • Knowledge of innovation best practices for new business creation, like lean-startup, Bell Mason, crossing the chasm.

    • Experience from startups, scale-ups and/or corporate venturing in a high-tech and/or med-tech environment.
