ING Ventures is responsible for origination, execution and portfolio management of all fintech investments at ING. The team manages a €300m corporate venture capital fund and is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. ING Ventures invests in fintech companies and adjacent technologies around the world. The team currently manages c.35 investments and has a robust pipeline of investment opportunities for 2021 and beyond.
The role of an Associate at ING Ventures is to support the team in identifying relevant technology companies that have the potential to disrupt our core business or that would create relevant opportunities, i.e. new business (models) for the bank. An Associate will support the Deal Principals in the origination and execution of new investments, as well as in monitoring, evaluating and supporting the existing portfolio.

Role & Responsibilities:
Active involvement in deal sourcing and deal flow management;
Execution of investment processes: due diligence, financial analysis, modelling and valuation;
Drafting investment proposals for the ING Ventures Investment Committee;
Support with the review and negotiation of transaction documentation;
Monitor and report the performance of portfolio investments;
Liaise with stakeholders in innovation and across the wider bank
We are looking for:
Graduate from a top tier university with an excellent academic record;
3 to 5 years work experience in relevant industries, e.g. Start-up / Growth company, Investing, Corporate Finance / M&A, Strategy Consulting;
Experience in transaction related activities, e.g. market research, financial modelling and valuations, business case assessment;
Exceptional interpersonal skills, proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in a corporate environment;
Self-confidence, energy, attention to detail and an ability to present ideas / information in a concise and organized way;
Fluent communication skills in English, additional European languages are beneficial
