    Assistant Scientist Biophysics and Process Analytics (Yacht Life Sciences)

    For our client, Janssen Vaccines & Prevention B.V., situated in Leiden we are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Scientist Biophysics and Process Analytics.

    The Biophysics and Process Analytics (BPA) team is a young and dynamic group (34 team members), which is part of Analytical Development (AD), responsible for a range of activities focused on biophysical and analytical vaccine characterization. Their responsibilities include project bridging and transfer from late discovery to development, analytical support for process development, scouting exploration and implementation of novel analytical technologies.

    We are looking for a suitable candidate to reinforce the team as an Assistant Scientist. You are a motivated person who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team.

    Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

    • Sample analysis for internal (& external) stakeholders.
    • Executing analytical and (molecular-) biochemical methods
    • Cell culture
    • Data analysis and reporting
    • Responsible for documentation e.g. CofAs and trending reports
    • Further responsibilities include instrument maintenance & troubleshooting
    • Written reporting and oral presentations in various settings

    • Bachelor in Biochemistry, Biophysics and/or protein chemistry or related fields
    • > 2 years work experience (after graduation) with a broad range of laboratory techniques e.g. QPCR, ELISA, Biological assays, UPLC, CE, DLS and cell culture experience
    • Affinity for automation and software
    • Experience in good documentation and quality systems are preferable


    This concerns a full-time secondment contract via Yacht for 1 year (extension is anticipated). We will offer a competitive benefit package in line with the seniority of the position, with a salary range between 2800 and 3400 gross per month.
