It is Unilever’s ambition to reach 1 billion turnover in the next 5 to 7 years from plant based products of which plant-based meat is a significant part. To achieve that ambition, we are strengthening our technical capability and therefore we are looking for people with specific skills in this area.
The Science & Technology (S&T) team in the Foods & Refreshment (F&R) division is an agile team of enthusiastic world-class scientists with a clear purpose:

Flavour is of key importance for the Unilever Foods & Refreshment division.
As a Flavour Application Technologist, you will be at the core of the plant-based revolution by supporting the development and testing of new, disruptive flavour technologies in plant-based food applications and generating data for sensory predictive modelling purposes.
The role presents a great opportunity for a teamplayer who is passionate about applying the science required to create new, exciting sensory experiences for consumers, in alignment with the Unilever’s Suistanable Living Plan. Essential to the role are excellent organizational and practical skills and experience in sample handling and product preparation at bench and/or pilot plant scale.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Organize and carry out the testing of new flavour technologies in plant-based product formulations at bench/pilot plant scale following GMP and all the applicable standard protocols for sample manufacturing and related data capturing
Assess the quality of the samples produced by performing standard analytical and sensory evaluations and by coordinating the samples characterization via advanced analytical techniques
Support the creation of flavour prediction models via optimal data capturing and reporting
Effectively collaborate with the relevant Product and Process teams, to ensure the use of the highest standards in ingredient selection and processing
Work according to Agile principles, with a clear focus on value and targeted delivery
ALL ABOUT YOU
BSc in Food Science/Technology or similar
Experience in working in the food development or analysis labs (5+ years), preferred hands-on experience in food manufacturing
Technical Lab testing and Report generation
Excellent planning/organizational skills and communication skills, effective working in virtual teams
Attention to the detail, highly accountable
