    Analytical Development Chemist

    How will you make an impact?

    As an Analytical Development Chemist at Thermo Fisher Scientific you play an essential role in the product and technology innovation strategy by providing analytical expertise and supporting all analytical development activities including method development, validation, stability, data interpretation and problem solving.

    The team takes great pride in solving complex analytical challenges and contributing to the next generation of medicine for important diseases as well as the innovation of new consumer products.

    The Tilburg site offers commercial manufacturing and development of gelatine-based drug delivery dosage forms (soft gels). The site has been a Thermo Fisher Centre of Excellence since 1994, offering extensive capabilities for a variety of soft gel technologies.

    Depending on your level of experience, you will:

    • Define (analytical) development strategies and provide technical solutions
    • Coordinate development & validation of methods and act as analytical project lead
    • Coordinate research of industry practices and processes and apply to innovative drug development internally and for client products
    • Investigate, create, and validate new scientific methodologies used to control production intermediates and final products on complex projects
    • Participate in technical discussions with clients with a high level of technical proficiency
    • Engage in creation of (analytical) processes and equipment design for clinical, scale up, and/or registration batches, including technology transfer of projects to and from clients
    • Train, guide and advise technicians and chemists in analytical method development, validation, and transfer activities during implementation of new methodologies
    • Solve problems related to the conduct of chemical experiments
    • Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices and Safety guidelines.

    What we are looking for from you:

    • These roles typically require 3 to 6 years of analytical development scientific experience or equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience
    • Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related physical science
    • You should be skilled in carrying out/developing/validating a variety of analytical methods (HPLC, GC, Dissolution etc.)
    • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and ICH guidelines is preferred
    • Experience working directly with clients, leading meetings/teleconferences and presenting recommendations would be beneficial
    • Previous experience training and mentoring other team members would be beneficial
    • Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
    • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Able to work in rapidly changing environment.
