    Job Description

    Are you a student looking for an Internship starting at the beginning of March 2021? Are you looking for an internship that will offer you an assignment in one of our running projects and that will challenge you with a wide ranging variety of work and opportunity? Are you living in Europe and enrolled in a European University? If you are, then keep reading! We pride ourselves on being able to offer interns a challenging experience in our daily work.

    In your role as R&D Analytical Chemistry Intern you will be given full responsibility and accountability for projects from the beginning of your placement and you’ll have an opportunity to fully integrate and actually make a difference.

    Have you always wondered what makes coffee smell and taste like coffee?

    As an intern in Analytical Chemistry you work on unraveling exactly which aroma components are responsible for this.


    Qualifications

    Do you fulfill the following requirements?

    • Masters Student of one of the following disciplines: Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry or Food science.
    • Experience in chromatography, especially gas chromatography
    • Good mathematical and statistical knowledge.
    • Build and develop cross-functional relationships
    • Passionate and take a hands-on approach

    You will be able to independently plan and execute experiments and develop methods related to your project areas, as well as produce technical reports/presentations and periodically communicate key findings to stakeholders. You will be a part of the Analytical Chemistry team, but also have the opportunity to interact with your peers in other departments within and outside of R&D. In addition, at busy times, you may be expected to support other ongoing project activities outside of your immediate team and in some instances occasional international travel may be required.

    This role is for Master students in the final phase of their studies for a minimum of 6 months internship at our Utrecht Research and Development Center.

    To be successful in this role you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship. Please note that non-EU students enrolled in EU University should have right to work for the whole extend of the internship. Preferable degrees include: Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Food Science. You are highly motivated, an excellent communicator, experienced in gas chromatography, fluent in English, inquisitive, analytical and prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic international environment.

    The monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek. The internship starts at the beginning of March 2021, and is for a period of 6 months.
