Agricultural/Industrial Tyre Characteristics Relations Mapping
Who we are
Apollo Tyres is a tyre manufacturer with Indian roots. It’s an ambitious and growing company, with factories in India and Europe (Netherlands and Hungary) and sales offices all over the world. In our Global R&D Center in Enschede around 130 employees work on the development of new passenger car tyres and agricultural tyres for the brands Apollo and Vredestein. Furthermore, we have a subsidiary office in Frankfurt with around 25 employees.
Context of your assignment:
Agricultural and Industrial tyres are developed for various types of vehicles and are used in many different conditions. The typical characteristics of a tyre depend on different factors, such as load, inflation pressure, speed and soil/surface conditions.
The goal of this project is to develop a tool to determine the typical tyre parameters – rolling circumference, loaded radius and contact area - based on the prevailing conditions applicable for the tyres in service. The tool should be able to calculate the output values of these parameter based on the variable inputs. Based on literature and available test data a correlation should be established between the variables. The tool shall be validated by testing the tyres in the field.
