We are a dedicated team working across multiple continents developing Qualcomm’s core AI capabilities. Our projects lie on the spectrum from fundamental to applied research, including research areas such as model efficiency, computer vision, personalization, combinatorial optimization, data compression and wireless.
For our wireless machine learning teams, we are looking for Deep Learning researchers specialized in RF sensing, wireless communication, wireless perception, and RF/GNSS positioning.
As a Deep Learning Researcher at Qualcomm, your role involves testing hypotheses, quickly iterating on promising ideas, and prototyping and implementing these ideas in collaboration with other researchers and software engineers. You stay up to date with the latest research in the field, develop new ML models and algorithms, and publish papers at scientific conferences. You engage with product teams to see your ideas applied to Qualcomm’s core business and deployed on millions of Qualcomm-powered devices from mobile phones to autonomous vehicles.

Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Applied Mathematics or similar field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience using machine learning tools and packages (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax)
Eager to apply machine learning to the latest research challenges in wireless communication, sensing, and positioning
Strong coding skills and programming experience in Python or C++
Experience working in an academic or industry research lab
Hands-on experience with large wireless signal datasets (or other non-camera signals) and machine learning
Track record of publishing at major conferences and journals (ICC, GlobeCom, MobiCom, Infocom, RadarConf, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Sensor Networks, as well as other premier machine learning, AI, and perception venues)
