About Our Client
A Japanese multinational banking and financial services institution
The role of VP exists to both provide support and to lead roles in the execution of transactions as well as marketing activities and origination of new business.
The role requires strong analytical skills and will involve the review and analysis of information including customer financial statements, project finance financial models, due diligence and legal documentation.
The role also requires strong communication skills as there will be various interfaces both within the organisation as well as externally including client facing dealing including marketing, deal execution and DD/KYC.
The role sits within the Business Promotion Department of the bank and is focused on sourcing, structuring and closing transactions and advisory mandates for the benefit of International and Structured Finance Department (ISD), predominantly in the Benelux and the Nordics. The role reports into the Head of Project Finance Benelux.
Generally this role would be providing support to transaction leads, both on analysis and administration tasks and taking significant element on transactions or parts of larger ones - including running transactions by themselves.
There is a significant customer facing element to the role, including gathering information (KYC, DD etc) and attending customer meetings, marketing and transaction execution. The role may be expected to have its own network of customers, advisors and other industry players.
Internally, the role would interface with various other departments including portfolio management and Credit and to colleagues in other regions at the highest level.
The role requires significant knowledge of Project Finance theory, practice, documentation and execution.
The role has no formal direct reports but will be responsible for helping to train and support colleagues with internal processes and will take team leading roles as part of project teams.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Support senior staff as part of deal teams in the marketing for, origination of and execution of transactions, and take the lead on transactions or parts thereof.
Supervise the preparation of credit applications and manage data input for GBR, EIC, PF Grading and other systems, and help to train and supervise more junior staff in that role.
Liaise with all relevant departments within EMEA required for marketing and execution.
As appropriate, financial modelling and analysis for projects in support of transaction lead and as part of an advisory team.
Understanding the Bank's internal procedures and processes and applying them correctly and in compliance with all rules and regulations and monitor and support junior staff in doing so.
Working on asset management, and other areas of ISD wider business as requested.
To carry out marketing activities for the team.
Dealing with customers for origination of regulated products including telephone and face to face meetings.
Preparing externally facing marketing materials in line with the guidelines and seeking compliance approval.
Taking responsibility for a specific customer group (market, product region).
The Successful Applicant
Significant knowledge and experience of project finance theory, practice, risk analysis, credit, execution and documentation. Preferably in Renewable Energy and/or Digital Infrastructure
Strong numerical and financial skills essential and financial modelling experience desirable.
Good knowledge of PF customers and clients for marketing purposes and the ability to work with and understand customer needs.
An element of leadership experience for transactions.
Previous experience of working in project finance in a relevant institution (bank, advisor, industry etc).
The ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel under pressure and to time constraints with significant changes.

Education & Qualifications: Undergraduate level degree as a minimum and language skills would be viewed favourably.
