    Trade Compliance Officer

    As a Trade Compliance Officer you’re responsible for maintaining and improving our Global Trade Compliance framework and guidelines so ERIKS can keep doing business in a responsible way and we’re able to serve our customers in almost every country of the world.

    You will be part of the Ethics & Compliance team, which consists of the Trade Compliance Officer, an Ethics & Compliance Manager and the manager of the team, the Ethics & Compliance Director.

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategic, conceptual organization and planning of processes in export and import procedures (incl. customs valuation); regulation of fundamental issues for export and import processing, excise tax processing, minimization of sanctions risks
    • Implementation of and compliance with legal regulations of foreign trade law (incl. export control) and customs regulations for customs procedures including customs valuation law; monitoring of customs and excise tax compliance through implementation and updating of work/organizational instructions
    • Providing and monitoring classification processing (using existing IT tools) of all production goods, spare parts for use in export and import (national and international dual use lists)
    • Organization of processes to determine customs value relevant costs (e.g. development costs, tool costs, license costs) and ensuring proper declaration in the relevant customs procedures
    • Implementation of the necessary prerequisites and approval measures (simplified customs procedures as well as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status) with assurance of the necessary reporting obligations to the main customs office
    • Review and approval of relevant business strategies, business partners and clarification of issues as part of the Compliance approval workflow (e.g. contracts, third party due diligence, KYC).
    • Monitoring and further development of the processes to ensure the preferential and commercial origin of the production and trade goods using the existing IT tools
    • Training of internal colleagues (local import/export teams, Compliance Officers, Sales staff)
    • Maintaining the Export Compliance Inbox
    • Act as a competent and trustworthy contact person regarding all compliance-related questions regarding day-to-day business (compliance consulting)

    Your Profile:

    • University degree, Master’s preferred
    • Legal knowledge of EU customs law, preferential law and customs valuation law, Knowledge of excise law (electricity and energy tax laws) is a plus
    • Confident and convincing appearance, ability to work in a team and under pressure
    • Ability to implement strategies and concepts in a practical and independent manner
    • High integrity with organizational and entrepreneurial skills and mindset
    • Willingness to travel (approx. 20 %) and work in an interdisciplinary team
    • You’re fluent in English, (verbal and in writing)
