Are you a student looking for an Internship starting at the beginning of March 2022? Are you looking for an internship that will offer you an assignment in one of our running projects and that will challenge you with a wide-ranging variety of work and opportunity? If you are, then keep reading! We pride ourselves on being able to offer interns a challenging experience in our daily work.
In your role as Sustainability & Regulatory R&D Intern, you will work together with Senior members of the R&D Food Compliance team who are responsible for all aspects of food safety and international food, packaging and sustainability legislation. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and exposure into how a global professional regulatory team operates. Your role will be focussed in the dynamic and exciting area of environmental and packaging sustainability regulations, the understanding of which is critical to the success of JDE’s Packaging Sustainability Programme. This internship will involve:
A Literature research assignment to consolidate and build upon emerging global packaging sustainability regulations and standards.
Supporting country by country end-to-end assessments (from consumer attitudes to packaging, recycling and waste management infrastructure and local rules and regulations).
Creating or adapting a way to use the results of the research to enable findings and insights to be also analysed in a data-driven way, ensuring a high level of technical rigour.
Supporting development of JDE best practice guidance and tools to assess the level of regulatory risk or external criticism to the different environmental claims that JDE markets might choose to use on packaging or its digital media.
Producing reports for mixed technical and non-technical stakeholders for specific requests and a final in-depth report at the end of the placement period that meets the requirements of JDE and your University studies.
Do you fulfil the following requirements?
A student in Nutrition, food science or environment/regulatory related subjects.
A passion for sustainability in your everyday life including food and packaging.
Masters level or in-depth study in one of these areas is preferable; food safety, food law, general risk management methods, packaging technology, consumer regulations.
Good proficiency in MS Excel is essential, preferably some experience with statistical analysis and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
Good communication skills are essential as you will collaborate with people in various locations within JDE and outside.
A “self-starter” with drive and energy, confident to work with minimal supervision.
To be successful in this role you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum. Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University to be considered as a candidate.
The monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek. We also provide additional support if daily travelling to work is required. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
