    Sub Project Lead Auxiliary Electrical Systems (Platform)

    Based on the Energie-akkoord, where the targets and intentions for the transition to a more renewable energy supply are set, the Roadmap Offshore wind energy 2030 and the ambition to realise additional windcapacity prior to 2030 a roll-out strategy is being prepared for the medium term, including the IJmuiden Ver (DC) projects. This results in a commitment for TenneT to realise at least 2x (with potential up to 5) 2GW HVDC Grid Connection Systems which bring the power from
    offshore wind-farms in the North sea to the Dutch electricity grid to be commissioned between 2028 - 2030.

    Your contribution to TenneT

    The Sub Project Lead (SPL) Auxiliary Electrical Systems is responsible for timely and safe delivery of the design, installation and commissioning works related to the electrical disciplines (<10 kV), instrumentation and telecom according to contract specifications. The SPL shall together with a team of technical specialists and site engineers supervise the contractor on these deliveries throughout all phases of the project from design until hand over from the contractor to TenneT’s operational department. The high voltage equipment (>10 kV) is not in the scope of the SPL Auxiliary Electrical Systems. Electrical systems on board of IJmuiden Ver platforms are for instance the complete auxiliary power system, Lighting, earthing & bonding, UPS, LV distribution, PAGA, CCTV and NAVAIDS.

    The SPL and his / her discipline team are responsible to supervise the contractor’s activities, which includes the review and approval of the design deliverables, inspection and approval of vendor packages, outfitting works, mechanical completion and commissioning activities. Furthermore the SPL shall support realisation of the goals of TenneT’s overarching 2 GW program up to the handover of grid connection systems to the later system operator. As Sub Project Lead Electrical Systems you are reporting to the Technical Project Lead Platform.
    • Manage the contractor towards a successful completion of the Electrical Systems in terms of safety, compliance with the contract, schedule and quality.
    • Responsible for managing the document review cycle for LV electrical, instrumentation and platform telecom disciplines.
    • Follow up outfitting works and mechanical completion with TenneT site engineers.
    • Witness and approve on- and offshore commissioning of completed systems.
    • Liaise with the certifying authority for acceptance of design and execution of the platform EIT scope.
    • Interact with internal stakeholders, e.g. Asset Management, operations and parallel projects.
    • Translation of changes, wishes, requests and discussions coming from internal and external stakeholders into technical solutions.
    • Ensure technical alignment and share lessons learnt between the multiple 2GW projects.
    • Support a successful implementation of Safety by Design and safe project execution.
    • Ensure the 2GW standard is adhered to and implemented correctly.

    Your Profile and background

    • Electrical engineering background or equivalent (BSc. degree or higher)
    • 5 years+ experience with design, installation and testing of low voltage installations, instrumentation and telecom systems. Experience in offshore substations is a pre, but not a necessity
    • Experience with or strong interest and learning ambitions in technical project management, contractor management and all related processes
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Enthusiastic, good communication skills, high work ethic, team player
    • Willingness to travel
