Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is a division within The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) and responsible for the marketing and distribution of all theatrical releases from seven different studios: Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Pixar Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucas Film, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures.
The position of Studio Marketing Supervisor sits within the Studios Marketing team. The team consists of two other colleagues, one of which is the Marketing Manager Studios who is the overall team lead. The team is responsible for the marketing campaigns for all theatrical releases within the Dutch market. The team works closely with other internal departments, like: Distribution, Communications, Digital, Consumer Products, Media Networks, Disney+, Parks & Resorts and Brand Partnerships & Promotions.
We are looking for a Studio Marketing Supervisor who will primarily focus on two responsibilities:
Within the team you will be the marketing lead for all theatrical releases coming from Searchlight Pictures, one of the seven studios. Most Searchlight Pictures releases are arthouse/crossover films, which means they have a more specific and tailored campaign approach than our other more commercial releases. These films are specifically targeted to the more arthouse and crossover cinemas. This includes creating the marketing strategy, campaign planning, festival strategy and aligning with all the necessary departments, partners and teams, both internal and external. This also includes media planning and coordination with our media agency, budget management and very close collaboration with our Distribution and Communications teams. High affinity with crossover/arthouse cinema is a must
The second part of the role focusses on trade marketing. You will be responsible for initiating and setting up trade marketing presence with the three major exhibitors. This includes the year round planning for banners and other in-cinema POS, and also the distribution of (digital) promotional content like images, posters, clips, social content etc. All efforts on trade marketing is in very close collaboration with the rest of the Studio Marketing team and the Theatrical Distribution team.
HOME ENTERTAINMENT & DISNEY MUSIC
Furthermore, you will also be responsible for some small campaigns focusing on the physical and digital home entertainment film releases. You will have a specific budget per campaign to plan your media with our retail business partners and also targeting consumers directly.
Lastly, you will also be the first-point-of-contact for our Disney Music division. This purely focusses on coordination and localization of assets.
Please note that both the Home Entertainment and Disney Music activities are a very small portion of the work within this position.
We are looking for a creative, hands-on marketer who ideally has somewhere between 2 and 5 years of working experience in (content) marketing and/or entertainment marketing. Someone with a strong eye for detail and a strong relationship builder for working in a large,complex team. As a large focus will be on Searchlight Pictures releases, passion & interest for arthouse/crossover cinema is a must.
You need to have knowledge and experience with the basic Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and strong in Dutch and English language, both speaking and in writing.
