As a Senior Scientist of the Screening & Assay Technologies team in Utrecht (NL), embedded in the Antibody Discovery & Technologies cluster, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team tasked with providing expert guidance and access to cutting edge technologies across the organization. You will be scouting, evaluating and implementing new and existing technologies for the purpose of discovering our next lead antibody candidates, specifically in the area of signal transduction and intracellular molecular profiling. Developing novel assays, optimizing existing in-house assays and evaluation of commercially available medium throughput (inter and intra) cell-based signal transduction assays, all aimed at functional characterization of antibody libraries.
Scouting, evaluating and implementing new technologies aimed at the characterization of antibody libraries. Making use of a variety of multiplexed read-outs and technologies such as reporter-gene assays, electrochemiluminescence (Mesoscale), phosphorylation status, Luminex, label-free signaling read-outs, transcriptome profiling, Reverse Phase Protein Arrays
Enjoying simultaneous handling of multiple collaborative projects and working in a team-oriented environment
As the go-to expert in signal transduction and molecular profiling, you will be setting up in-house assays as well as liaising with CROs offering the technologies of interest
You will work in close collaboration with internal project teams and our Data Science team
Responsible for the documentation of assay development, analysis and reporting of profiling results. You will both create internal work instructions and calculation templates
Ensure pro-active communication between team members and collaborators: analyze and present complex data to a multidisciplinary team of scientists
What we ask

More specifically, we ask the following of you:
PhD in life sciences, biochemistry, biology or biotechnology or related discipline
At least 2 years post-doctoral experience (industry or academia) with a variety of cell-based signal transduction pathways and assay technologies. Of particular interest are signal transduction pathways engaged by typical cell-surface receptors that are targeted by therapeutic antibodies
Familiarity with (cancer) cell biology and signal transduction pathways
Creative mindset that uses understanding of the underlying biology to design assays which identify novel biological insight into our antibody portfolio
Experience with medium to high throughput assay formats (e.g. 384 well) and analysis of profiling based datasets is an advantage (e.g. dimensionality reduction, similarity analysis and clustering techniques)
Affinity for complex data analysis, lab automation and a strong interest in (assay) technologies, innovation and knowledge bases.
Enjoy working together with scientists from other departments and have excellent communication and pro-active collaboration skills
Multitasking, organization, record keeping, problem-solving skills
