    SAP BASIS Administrator

    As an SAP BASIS Administrator , you will maintain system functionality, resolve problems, and facilitate the development of systems upgrades, enhancements and improvements. You will ensure systems meet business objectives and user needs.

    SAP COE is the essential IT unit at IDEXX, and SAP is the brain behind all the business logic for global operations and growth. Global SAP COE builds, maintains and runs this brain through single ERP instance. Our team of about 100 Architects, Analysts, Developers, Administrators and Security Analysts is spread across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
    SAP BASIS team, part of this global COE, administers the system needs of COE.
    We regularly innovate and make substantial contributions to our business process. One of our major projects is converting ECC instance into S4 HANA, due in 2022.

    In this role:
    You will monitor system performance, identify problems, and implement solutions; tune and ensure systems are running at optimum speed and efficiency.
    You will maintain the systems, develop scripts to automate system components, configure and install software, maintenance packages, supporting products and other features.
    You will maintain system back-up and recovery procedures.
    You will respond to system problems and support recovery from data loss caused by the user or system.
    You will provide interim solutions to support the business until systems are restored.
    You will verify correct back-up strategies and implement recovery procedures.
    In coordination with Development staff, you will research and recommend system design criteria.
    You will provide stable, up-to-date development environments.
    You will ensure that long-term system operations and administration requirements are included in overall company information systems planning.
    You will coordinate with other areas of the technology department and ensure system alignment with the overall corporate technology strategy.
    You will create and maintain system documentation, such as Enhancement Detail Documents (EDDs) and Maintenance Design Documents (MDDs) and others, ensuring that information is current and reflects system updates and changes.
    You will manage system and project budgets to ensure financial guidelines are maintained.

    What You Will Need to Succeed:
    You have a BSc degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    You have SAP Basis Administration skills, installations, migrations, and maintenance (support packages, kernel changes, EHP updates and system copies: homogeneous and heterogeneous).
    You are a technical expert in one or more of the following Operating Systems and Databases having at least a basic knowledge of the others: Linux, Unix, Windows, Oracle, HANA.
    You have installed/migrated SAP in virtualized or cloud environments. Cloud-related certification is a plus (AWS, Azure, Google).
    You know the Solution Manager setup and functionality.
    You understand high-available and mission-critical SAP environments.
    Your experience in S/4 HANA technical upgrades is a plus.
    You are good at troubleshooting and finetuning.
    You understand software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
    You excel at communication and can impart ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
    You are self-motivated and can work independently.
    You excel at customer service and building relationships.
    You have some project management skills.
