    Sales Manager NTS Optel

    We focus on both one-off projects and repeat production. Our knowledge lies particularly in the following application areas:

    • Illumination• Sensing• Imaging• Laser Beam delivery• Or complete turnkey systems

    NTS Optel is a vertical integrated company where development and assembly are closely connected with each other. Our engineering department is based on a high qualified team of Optical, SW, Electronics & Mechanical Engineers (Master, PhD), close linked to our assembly team of high qualified optical assembly engineers.     The Sales Manager NTS Optel maintains and develops the existing customer base of NTS Optel and build up new relations with potential customers which fits the proposition of NTS Optel. Our specific core markets are Semicon, Analytical and Health. Our customers are technology driven OEM companies and partnering with NTS Optel due to our very specific Optical and Laser technology competences in a vertical integrated environment.

    As a Sales Manager you are working on the edge of Business and Technology and cooperating with all relevant stakeholders with the aim to generate attractive high potential business leads according the proposition of NTS Optel and transforming these into business. Therefore you are, commercialy wise, first Point of Contact of your customer base but also inside NTS Optel as part of Core-3 during project execution together with project management and engineering. Specific network organizations, fairs and events are part of your scope in order to represent NTS Optel specific or sometimes NTS Group, in close cooperation with your sales colleagues of NTS Group Sales.

    Finally you are part of the Management Team and therefore partly responsible for the policy, mission, vision and targets of NTS Optel.

    The Sales Manager NTS Optel reports to the Managing Director of NTS Optel and is part of the Management Team of NTS Optel but will also have close contact with the NTS Global Sales organization.

    What are you going to do


    • Creates and maintains a clear view on market developments (including applications, products, competitors) in terms of business opportunities and technology for the region;
    • Is responsible for the value proposition description and deployment towards customers;
    • Is responsible for communicating the NTS Optel propositions and competencies to the customer at all relevant functions and levels in the customer organization, including executive/senior technical DMUs. Involves the right colleagues at the right time in that communication. The aim is to obtain alignment between customer needs and the NTS Optel proposition and technology roadmap;
    • Has access to, develops and maintains a good working relation with all executive/senior technical DMUs at the customers and has a good understanding as to what their decision criteria are;
    • Develops and maintains relevant relations with market stakeholders, including customers, and generates attractive business leads with a high chance of success;
    • Maintains CRM with the necessary information about those leads and creates input for the QBC proces (Quotation Business Case), including a thorough business case analysis both from the customer perspective and the NTS perspective;
    • Is responsible for communicating the NTS Optel propositions and competencies to the customer at all relevant functions and levels in the customer organization, including executive/senior technical DMUs. Involves the right colleagues at the right time in that communication. The aim is to obtain alignment between customer needs and the NTS Optel proposition and technology roadmap;
    • Has access to, develops and maintains a good working relation with all executive/senior technical DMUs at the customers and has a good understanding as to what their decision criteria are;
    • Develops and maintains relevant relations with market stakeholders, including customers, and generates attractive business leads with a high chance of success;
    • Maintains CRM with the necessary information about those leads and creates input for the QBC proces (Quotation Business Case), including a thorough business case analysis both from the customer perspective and the NTS perspective;
    • Translates the value proposition into relevant local market communication tools in conjunction with the global marcom team;
    • Organizes and participates in conferences, trade shows and workshops. Presents the NTS Optel and NTS Group proposition at those events with relevant in depth technical and commercial information;
    • Builds up knowledge on the relevant technology trends and customer technical roadmaps and provides that knowledge as input to the NTS Optel competence and technology (roadmap).

    • Technical background is a must. Academic-Bachelor level, MBA or similar experience is preferred;
    • Commercial savvy and experience: listening, convincing, negotiating;
    • Natural drive to develop new business relationships;
    • At least 10 years of experience in a optics, mechatronics OEM or supplier, both in development and in operations;
    • Combines strategic insight with result driven pragmatism;
    • Drives customer satisfaction as the leading indicator for business results;
    • Strong, proven track record in commercial and financial management (account planning, business cases, accounting);
    • Natural leader with high personal effectiveness to deal with complex situations and conflicts;
    • Communicates effectively at different levels (C-level but also lower levels);
    • Good knowledge of English and German, both verbally and written.
