As RouteGuard Operations Manager you will be part of an international team of enthusiastic colleagues working from the Netherlands and the Philippines. The RouteGuard team is part of Shipping Operations, supporting both our FleetGuard Managed product and our RouteGuard service. You will build a strong relation with our Shipping customers, providing excellent service, high quality and ongoing support.
Your primary responsibility is weather routing and post voyage performance analysis. You will communicate with captains and operators to provide the best in class routing service during the voyage, and provide performance analysis after the voyage. We expect people to oversee and manage their own workload, can set priorities and keep a high-quality standard under pressure. Next to that, we’re looking for people that do not accept the status quo but are keen to think about improving our procedures and services to our customers.
As operations manager you're in a leadership role, providing operational and personal guidance. You'll be responsible for the local RouteGuard team in Utrecht, and will combine this with running operational shifts yourself. You're able to stay calm and maintain overview, and prioritize the proper actions.
Manage team members, including frequent conversations, support and performance evaluations
Ensure training on new products and services being offered and technical skills required to satisfy customer requirements is being conducted
Develop relationships with stakeholders to understand strategic direction and communicate and implement tactical actions.
Review team performance and implement actions to ensure high quality delivery of services to customers
Actively building the team / Leading improvement. Being responsible for improvements plans, actively contribute to the quality of our work, raising issues and solutions and stimulate other to do the same.
Monitor and analyse the weather through interpreting weather models, observations, radar and satellite imagery.
Issue route advices, taking navigational constraints for the specific vessel and route into consideration.
Provide route comparison and scenario analysis through consultancy
Support in the heavy weather vessels process in close collaboration with the responsible senior route analyst.
Produce Post Voyage Analysis, interpreting and applying relevant charter parties.
Provide consultancy and explanation to customers following PVAR delivery
Produce contra PVARs, including basic understanding of competitors analysis and the strength and weaknesses of both DTN and competitor methodology.
Utilize a variety of internal applications and have deep product knowledge to provide timely insights to shipping customers routes and voyages.
Handle advanced customer queries, both via mail and phone
