    Risk Control Partner

    That you as a member of the Risk Control Partner (RCP) team, facilitate the CreditCore Tribe Leadership Team by building up a robust risk culture and help incorporating the ‘in-control’ way of working into the day-to-day activities of the Tribe.

    Effective Risk Management is critical to the ongoing and long-term success of Rabobank. The Rabobank Risk Management has adopted a three lines of responsibility model as part of its Risk Management Framework. Within this model, the 1st line is responsible for the dynamic risk management and risk-based decision-making. The RCPs assist the Product Owners and the Area Leads in adopting and implementing the Risk and Control Framework (RCF) and support them in their daily risk and control activities, such as Control Self-Assessment (CSA), managing findings and incidents, defining action plans for the findings, etc.

    The RCP is a subject matter expert regarding the Risk and Control Activities (RCAs) in general and in some specific subjects such as processes, operational risk, compliance risk, IT risk, Information Security risk, Business Continuity Management etc. The RCP facilitates the resolution of risk related problems and assists the Risk Owner in performing the RCAs.

    The RCP role enables the Tribe Leadership Team to achieve their business objectives through the adoption of the In-control way of working. Your ideas and expertise contribute to a more efficient and effective way to mitigate risk within the Credit Risk domain. In the meantime, you are also one of the change agents who is actively involved in process related discussions/activities in different projects as risk and controls are associated with processes. You will have a very steep learning curve.

    Making a difference

    • A CreditCore Control Approach is developed aiming to achieve a successful implementation of CreditCore. You as the RCP will be supporting the Tribe Leadership in embedding the Control Approach into the tribe In-control way of working.

    • The RCP expertise team is actively involved in implementing and monitoring the risks and controls activities based on internal or external regulations and Credit policy.

    • You will be pro-actively supporting the Product Owners in actively managing the risks and controls associated with the credit processes and performing risk identification, risk assessment and defining mitigation activities.

    • The RCP team acts as a Centre of Excellence for the Credit Core Tribe Areas/Squads and Business Units on Risk Control Framework (RCF) related questions.

    • Your network will expand tremendously within Rabobank Group as you will be working with colleagues from diverse domains such as business units W&R, LBB and DLL, as well as IT, 2LoR ( risk oversight departments) and 3LoR ( Audit ).

By moving to CreditCore Tribe, the Credit Core program became a standing department that ensures one global classification system that will allow us to be stronger, more flexible and future-proof as a bank.

    In your role as RCP, you focus on developing and embedding the In-Control Framework and CreditCore Control Approach both within and outside the CreditCore tribe. The Credit Risk RCF Risk and Control Library is an important part of the CreditCore Control Approach. The Control Library will be implemented at both group level and business unit level. The activities related to implementing the Control Library are, but not limited to, detailing out the controls in the Control Library, supporting the business units in rolling out their local controls, identifying IT central automated and manual controls together with the IT business analyst. All these activities will be performed together with the members of the Control Library working group. You will be working with stakeholders from different departments as well as the business units in different locations within Rabobank.

    You will also need to liaise, coordinate and work with the 2nd line Risk Management functions, Compliance and 3rd line by effectively implementing all aspects of the RCF within CreditCore tribe.

    What we expect from you:

    Customer focus, can-do attitude, strong risk aware mind-set and persuasiveness are clearly essential for the role of RCP. In addition, it is important that you recognize everything on the checklist below:

    • bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or other related majors;

    • minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Risk Management related role;

    • experience in Operational Risk Management, Risk and Control Activities (RCAs), Credit Risk management processes and/or special assets management processes

    • strong analytical ability in order to be able to present complex issues in a brief, simple and straightforward manner;

    • flexibility and adaptability to varying scope and workload;

    • excellent oral and written communication skills in English (mandatory) and Dutch (preferred);

    • experience with RCF Archer and ARIS Business Process Modeling is a plus.
