Gadeta is a clinical stage biotechnology company developing first-in-class cellular immunotherapies to treat cancer, using a number of proprietary manufacturing and T-cell engineering technologies. The Company is pioneering the development of αβ T-cells engineered to express defined γδ T cell receptors (TEGs) that can specifically recognize cancer cells, eliminate them, and spare healthy cells. Gadeta has a pipeline of product candidates in development for the treatment of hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Research – TEG Platform team at our laboratories in Utrecht. The successful candidate will recognize and embrace the opportunities provided by synthetic biology and be equipped to apply these technologies in Gadeta’s therapeutic programs.
The ideal candidate will bring knowledge and expertise in T cell / TCR cell engineering and be able to apply these practices at the bench. Previous industrial experience in protein engineering and proficiency in structural biochemistry is also preferred.

Design and in vitro evaluate constructs to engineer TCRs and other synthetic molecules to enhance their functionality.
Presenting obtained results within Gadeta and in external meetings.
Keeping up to date with scientific literature, and proactively seeking out and reporting on developments in Gadeta’s field of interest.
Manage and mentor Technicians and internship students.
Document plans and experiments in electronic labjournal and technical reports.
Work independently as well as participate in an interactive, team-oriented culture to drive projects towards key milestones.
Demonstrated skills and competencies

Ph.D. degree in synthetic cell biology, structural biology, biochemistry, immunology, or other relevant field and two years of post PhD relevant experience (E)
Hands-on experience in cellular and molecular biology and functional assays (E)
Experience in cellular immunotherapies, immune protein engineering or immune oncology (E)
1-3+ years of industry experience (P)
Proficiency in the culture of immune primary cells & mammalian cell lines (E)
Experience in tumor immunology and cancer biology, with understanding of immunotherapy (P)
Expertise in flow cytometry applications, including multicolor flow cytometry (E)
Extensive experience in design, execution, interpretation and optimization of cell based assays such as cytotoxicity, proliferation, flow cytometry and reporter assays (E)
Cell engineering expertise (viral production and transduction, electroporation) (P)
Proficiency in structural-guided protein engineering for cellular therapies and/or biotherapeutics (P)
Ability to interpret, troubleshoot and report complex data (E)
Demonstrated creativity and innovation to solve scientific problems (E)
