    Our Story
    The pladis story began when the families of McVitie’s, GODIVA and Ulker each started making the sweet and savoury treats they would later become famous for. The founders of these companies shared a secret; they knew how to create products that people loved. And this grew their brands into icons with large portfolios of sweet and savoury treats.
    In 2016, Yildiz Holding embarked on a remarkable journey to transform its consumer food businesses and built a new global industry leader combining the businesses of Ulker and United Biscuits: and so pladis was born, combining hundreds of years family brand heritage.     What will this role achieve?
    To support the Regional Regulatory Affairs lead to ensure the legal compliance of all pladis products sold within Western Europe , South East Asia and other Emerging markets. Collaborating closely with other pladis regions, to support the export of products manufactured in region, outside of region.
    To provide sound regulatory advice, to support the launch & re-launch of pladis products in an efficient manner, ensuring all formulations and product claims meet legal requirements and align with pladis policies.
    Apply and translate our expertise to minimise regulatory and scientific barriers, and maximise opportunities to protect our business and ensure competitiveness within the region, while driving business growth!
    What will be your key deliverables?
    • Manage a Regulatory Affairs team supporting all pladis brands sold in WE and Emerging Markets
    • Coordinate and manage region Regulatory Affairs people and resources ,assess and plan for current and future needs, estimate risks over a longer-time horizon and manage internal and external stakeholders
    • Accountable for the regulatory compliance of the defined pladis brands in accordance with sales market, including product formulation, pack copy generation and artwork sign off, as well as ensuring compliance with pladis policies.
    • Effectively aligns regulatory resource, collaborating closely with commercial and R&D teams ensuring the timely delivery of key projects, compliance of the innovation pipeline, as well as ensuring existing products in the market continue to follow ongoing changes in legislation.
    • Evaluates upcoming laws and regulations in order to identify potential threats or opportunities.
    • Communicates regulatory emerging issues internally to regional teams and cross-functional partners, and presents proposed solutions / mitigation plans.
    • Manages & develop team members to deliver the business plan. Motivates team, develop skills and careers through effective implementation of performance plans and talent mapping of high potential team members.
    • support innovation and commercialization compliance by providing scientific and regulatory expertise on new product concepts, new ingredients and recipes
    • Develop, use and manage internal processes, databases and tools to facilitate regulatory compliance processes
    • Support and lead as necessary the development and implementation of efficient and effective governance systems, processes and tools to ensure effective and efficient regulatory compliance management
    • Engage with regulatory authorities as appropriate to support new product & package launches
    • Participate in Scientific & Regulatory related Incident Management Crisis Resolution
    • Collaborate across the organization to enable the innovation pipeline; provide regulatory input in all stages of the innovation process to ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of our ingredients and packaging materials
    • Proactively provide Regulatory driven risk assessments into the innovation process to facilitate prioritization and decision making
    • Support the claims and communication programs for the innovation pipeline according to the Company strategies, in alignment with other functions – Public Affairs, Legal, Marketing and the relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Provide expert assessment of the external relevant trends, best practices, research and regulatory landscape.
    • Build strategic relationship with a diverse group of external stakeholders, such as regulators, academics and industry associations to proactively manage the company’s credibility and reputation as well as our industry position in the various public policy and regulatory topics.
    What do you need for this role?
    • At least 10 years’ experience of working in a regulatory management role in the food industry and leading at least 4 years a diverse team.
    • Solid experience in regulatory advocacy, regulatory framework on a broad range of fields in the food and beverage industry, risk management
    • Must be fluent in English
    • Proven track record interpreting claims regulations globally.
    • Line management experience
    • Regulatory experience in Emerging markets will be a plus
    • Proven Track record of time management and ability to prioritise workload & deliver on time.
    • Ability to work with ambiguity and deliver under pressure
    • BSc / MSc Degree in Food Legislation, Regulatory Affairs / Law or other Food Science based subject.
