Proactive identification and action. You are the first point of contact at a reception location. You support new guests on arrival and familiarise people with the location. Identifying issues and finding solutions to the questions and needs of our guests is your passion. Together with your colleagues you contribute to offering a safe living environment and you know how to find your way when surrounded by chaos, on the one hand, and how to bring a certain amount of order to this chaos, on the other hand.
You can work both independently and in a team;
You have a proactive attitude and approach guests yourself;
You help with translation when you are in contact with authorities and, when necessary, attend meetings;
You are available for local residents, chain partners and other involved parties, and speak with them in a pleasant way;
You identify and report to the care coordinator and the team manager.
Together with De Regenboog Groep and the Salvation Army, HVO-Querido provides shelter in Amsterdam for refugees from Ukraine. We offer reception and shelter to refugees at various locations in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. We do this together with permanent employees and volunteers. We work according to a 4-week roster, in which context you will also be also scheduled to work in the evenings and weekends (not between 23:00 and 07:00). You have an MBO+ / HBO (university of applied sciences) level of working and thinking;
Some experience in a similar environment is a plus;
It is an advantage if you have taken a course in social welfare;
Good command of Dutch and/or English is a must;
Knowledge of Ukrainian, Russian or Polish gives you a head start;
You can work independently and are calm and standfast;
You keep to your agreements and address others about agreements made.
Terms of employment and particulars
A job with a lot of freedom and room for initiative. Your salary is a minimum of €2.396,- and maximum of € 3.361,- gross per month based on a 36-hour working week (grade 6, Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) for Social Work). Other terms of employment are in accordance with the CLA. This way you get an individual choice budget and a training budget, among other things. A reference check and a Certificate of Good Conduct are mandatory parts of the procedure. This is initially a contract until 1 January 2023.
