We are looking for a remarkable Raw Materials & Product Evaluation Expert
The position has significant contribution on Covestro ability to deliver products to relevant markets. This position ensures compliance according to chemical regulations for Covestro products globally.
You are responsible for providing our stakeholders within Covestro with compliant raw material and sample product information. You will have work relations with colleagues from Product Management, Innovation, Application Development, Production, Legal, Procurement and of course within our PSRA global and regional teams.
You assess the available safety and regulatory information of our raw materials (e.g. (eco)-toxicity data, physical chemical data). For toxicity you maintain a strong relation with our PSRA global Tox team.
Next you can assess the belonging legislation (e.g. CLP/GHS).
The information you assess and provide are also the basis for our Commercial Product SDS, sample SDS, Product Registrations, Sensitive Applications and Product Inquiry teams.
The service you provide is for all businesses within Covestro. You proactively advice the communities who have an interest in raw material safety topics. The scope of the work is global and you will work (virtually) with colleagues located in Germany, North America and Asia.
You can differentiate yourself by understanding the safety needs from a production and market perspective in a rapidly changing world. To be successful in this role you show exemplary behavior on Compliance and Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE).
In this position you report to the Head Product Safety & Information Team NL.
The main tasks include
Independent evaluation of global & local Covestro raw materials with respect to chemicals legislation, including:
assessment and classification according to chemicals legislation
creation, consistency check and maintenance of required product safety, Tox/ecotox data and documents (e.g. in SAP EHS)
Evaluation of global Covestro sample products with respect to chemicals legislation
Planning and participation in cross functional product safety projects related to TPU products or raw materials
WHAT YOU OFFER
A Bachelor or Master degree in chemistry or comparable
Affinity or know how in chemical regulation and product safety or willing to learn
Basic knowledge and experience on human and environmental toxicology with regards to Product & Raw material Safety or willing to learn
Have a strong affinity with ICT systems and processes (especially MS Excel or SAP EHS)
Affinity with quality and safety
Affinity with different cultures
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to handle complex situations
Strong organization skills
A fast learner, team player, customer oriented and good communication skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Dutch or German are a plus
The position is remote and is located in the Netherlands with the willingness to travel to Waalwijk, Zwolle or Leverkusen on a certain basis to meet and work with direct colleagues.
