    Program Officer Materials (Cotton)

    The role
    IDH is looking to hire an experienced and driven Program Officer to support with the delivery of its strategic partnership with Better Cotton, which is an important aspect of the multi-year strategy of the Textiles & Manufacturing Business Unit. IDH and Better Cotton partner on work that advances the agenda on climate resilience, farmer incomes, innovate finance, and responsible sourcing.
    The position provides the right candidate with the opportunity to work around all IDH’s impact areas of Better Incomes, Better Jobs, Better Environment, and Gender. This includes landscape initiatives that take a very holistic approach to enhancing natural resources and building community resilience in global value chains.
    Key responsibilities of the Program Officer will include:
    Supporting the day-to-day management of the strategic partnership with Better Cotton, including on:

    • Engagement with partners, development, and implementation of program activities
    • Management of projects in accordance with IDH policies, procedures and funder requirements, including contract management, financial administration, data collection and analysis, and reporting
    • Management of M&E reporting and analysis and ongoing progress tracking of key data points, together with the M&E team
    • Support PM on convening public and private actors on sustainable cotton production systems
    • Other program administration as may be required

    Supporting the Program Manager Materials, including on:

    • Review of activities, budgets, and daily financial administration
    • Development of new activities, incl. research
    • Stakeholder engagement and networking
    • Content creation, incl. preparing presentations, newsletters, website articles, and factsheets, in collaboration with the IDH communication team
    • IDH’s learning agenda facilitation
    • Convening meetings, events, and workshops between IDH and its partners, including taking responsibility for meeting logistics and note-taking

    What you bring

    • Experience of working in the private sector-preferably within the Textile & Apparel industry.
    • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant working experience in a busy (and international) team
    • Experience in project management & (financial) administration & project budgeting
    • Knowledge of/strong interest in corporate sustainability / sustainable trade / climate smart agriculture / Sustainable Development Goals
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially a very good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.

    What we offer
    IDH offers a dynamic international environment and an enthusiastic and passionate team. As an IDH team member you can contribute to positive global change. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of extension. We offer a gross monthly salary between €2300 and € 2800 (based on a 40-hour week) and solid fringe benefits, including a good pension scheme.
