Job description We are currently looking for a full-time (40 hours):
PROCUREMENT MANAGER In your role as Procurement Manager, reporting to the Director Wholesale, you are responsible for determining the strategy for procuring products with best value for money within the set guidelines. You will build a strategy for the IDA portfolio of essential medicines and medical goods and ensure this strategy is translated to the operational buying team based in Mumbai, India. Working closely with these teams, you will provide advice and guidance to optimise efficient and effective operational activities. You will build and strengthen relationships with the main global suppliers to aid improvements in the areas of cost and service. You will work closely together with the Wholesale teams, including Sales, Sales Operations, and Demand management The Purchase team in India, led by the Purchase Manager, is functionally reporting to you. You will also participate in and lead projects related to Purchase and Sourcing. You will review processes, procedures and guidelines for continuous improvement and support the operational teams to increase effectiveness and efficiencies.
As Manager Procurement you are mainly responsible for:
Planning and implementing the full sourcing strategy together with the Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Reviewing the procurement processes and procedures to ensure alignment with good procurement practices following customers procurement and QA guidelines
Creating and maintaining Long Term / Framework Agreements and translating those to operations
Leading the Supplier Selection procedure to define the Primary and Secondary suppliers for stock items
Designing and managing the global tendering process
Coordinating of and reporting on the supplier quarterly performance evaluation process
Implementing continuous improvement in processes
Coordinating market analysis in collaboration with sales and demand management
Managing emergency sourcing projects from the purchase side, and coordinate with other department such as Sales, QA, and Demand Planning
Ensuring the team can perform in all aspects
Education & Experience
* Bachelor degree
At least 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role, including managing a procurement team
Experience with procurement and supplier management, preferably in global health /pharmaceutical industry
Experience in essential medicines and medical goods sector desirable
Skills & Characteristics
Ability to analyse and interpret data for strategic decision-making
Ability to manage stakeholders effectively at all levels, both internal and external
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to identify issues and opportunities and develop and implement effective solutions
Ability to challenge conventional practices
Language Fluency in written and spoken English
For this role we are specifically looking for candidates who are allowed to work in the Netherlands, and live within commuting distance (40km) of our Amsterdam office.
