    You will join Leeuwarden’s technology & improvement team that supports and improves the manufacturing processes for two plants, Pallas and Apollo. In the Pallas plant we produce coatings for cheese and rennet. In the Apollo we produce mainly cultures for yoghurts and cheese. The environment is dynamic and has interruptions with urgent/high priority activities that might require your support to running business. You uphold DSM's high SHE and quality standards. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment in close collaboration with production staff, engineers, QA, SHE, Supply Chain, R&D, finance etc. In this all you use the lean way of working. In this role you report to the Improve Plant Manager.


    What to expect?

    Key accountabilities for this position are:

    • Facilitate monitoring, ideation, and mobilization of operations on energy reduction activities
    • Take care of optimization and support of the utilities
    • Take care of optimization and support Pallas manufacturing processes – temporal for maternity leave
    • Collect data and analyze optimum use of production means
    • Investigate and lead projects on energy reduction
    • Help solving deviations in production and make proposals for improvement
    • Formulate and implement cost saving measurements
    • When necessary, take up the role of troubleshooter
    • Advise management on manufacturing innovation for sustainability
    • Deliver input for the budget process

    You bring

    • You have minimally a BSc degree, preferably in process technology.
    • Furthermore you have extensive knowledge and at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position in manufacturing or production.
    • Energy and mass balance knowledge and experience in an industrial environment is key. Experience with Utility Management is preferred.
    • Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
    • You are a real team player and are good in working together with people from different backgrounds. You are analytically strong, naturally curious, organized and hands-on.
    • You speak fluently Dutch (or are willing to learn on short notice) and English.
