The Demand and Supply Management (DSM) team is responsible for ensuring every Nike athlete is able to access the product they want when they want it. Through retail planning & forecasting excellence, DSM is ensuring the right product assortment is bought and manufactured, showing up in the right marketplaces and channels, allocated to the right store and multi-node locations, and sold at the optimal price.
To serve our consumers across EMEA in the best possible way we are building a multi-node network and scaling omni-channel services that enable us to deliver to the consumer when, where and how they want Nike’s Product with a primary focus on the Digital Consumer.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The EMEA Demand Supply Management (DSM) team is looking for a strong Director to help build & execute Nike’s Multi-Node network and Online2Offline strategy.
We are looking for an experienced leader who understands Nike’s consumer & business needs. And who can translate those needs into developing and running best-in-class planning & allocation capabilities for Multi-Node & O2O. You possess strong retail & business accumen and master the trade-offs between consumer experience, business metrics and supply chain performance. Leveraging experience in retail planning, supply chain & product management, you will harness facts and practical business knoweldge to create innovative solutions and run effective processes.
You are a natural collaborator and have a talent for finding win-win solutions across functions. Stakeholder management is one of your strengths and proactively build trusting relationships across the Nike organization.You’re an experienced team manager, are self-propelling and you get excited by entering new and unknown territories and can bring structure where it’s needed.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON & WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Because the Multi-node & O2O programs are in constant evolution, your responsibility is both to identify and build the required planning capabilities / products and to oversee the execution of operational and business management processes for DSM.
In this role you are part of the E-commerce planning team as well closely collaborating with the cross-functional Multi-node team and the O2O team.
Your activities will cover a wide scope, ranging from visioning and capability definition and development, to setting and aligning operational KPI’s and guardrails, to executing & testing these on live (pilot) situations, to establishing overarching business management process and operating model.
You will not do this on your own, you will have support from your team but more importantly you will do all this in tandem with the Operations/Logistics Multi-node director & team. And you and your team will be an integral part of the cross-functional O2O program team.
Moreover, you will own the planning capabilities / products required to make Multi-node / O2O a success. For you will gather the business needs from Nike Direct planning teams, and you will partner with the product owners in DSM, Analytics and Technology, located in EMEA & World HQ, to ensure timely delivery of those products.
You will also lead and grow a small team of product managers / planning experts, and develop them through the Nike Leadership Defined Model (Grow Yourself, Grow Together, Grow The Business).
Capability building / Product management: Product vision & strategy definition. Define the required product landscape and how it will evolve to higher maturity. Define the Product Roadmap aligned with node and service scaling plans. Feature prioritization taking into account value and effort/complexity.
Operational business management: define, test & execute new planning processes as part of the end-to-end processes for Multi-node & O2O. Define, report & review business KPI’s & guardrails, taking the appropriate actions to achieve Nike’s business goals.
Stakeholder Management: Listen to, understand and influence your stakeholder field to bring products to life and to optimize business performance. Manage relationships on multiple levels and prioritising in a matrix organization. Remove obstacles and help align the organization to achieve success.
Communication: Clearly articulate the vision, roadmap, priorities and requirements to multiple stakeholders in both written and oral formats. Gather and incorporate feedback from a diverse range of business & operations stakeholders.
Collaboration: Partner with DSM, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Technology, Analytics and Commercial leaders in EMEA and WHQ to deliver optimal results in line with consumer needs.
Research and Experimentation: Continuously monitor and share relevant technology trends, competitive offerings and best-of-breed executions. Define (product) KPIs, derive key insights, drive reporting tools, and devise & execute experiments to find the best solutions.
Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams and enable success by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships throughout the business. Cultivate and develop diverse talent within direct reporting team to maximize performance and results.
WHAT YOU BRING
Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management, digital retail, business planning.
10+ years Planning, Allocation or Supply Chain experience in a Retail, FMCG or Consumer Goods business
Hands-on experience developing products/tools and establishing new (business management) processes in Planning & Operations
Experience with multi-node networks and/or omni-channel services, where you have made practical business impact, applying commercial judgment and critical thinking
Exceptional influencing skills, with experience engaging diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders
History of leading multi-functional (agile) teams to higher performance
Demonstrated ability to work in a large, matrixed organization, influencing others and building strong cross-functional relationships
Advanced understanding of the Agile principles and methodologies and how they’re applied in workplace culture
Subject matter expertise in multi-node & omni-channel planning processes and technologies
Outstanding written/oral communication, organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail
Ability to provide clear direction, set measurable goals and make challenging tradeoffs in product priorities or business performance.
Strong project management skills and ability to present work to executive stakeholders
