    Operations Director

    Yanmar Europe BV is a subsidiary of Yanmar Co. Ltd., a Japanese family-owned business. Yanmar Europe provides Sales and Service support of compact industrial engines, agricultural machinery, the assembly of commercial marine engines and the sales and supply of spare parts to the European and Middle East markets.


    As the new member of the Board, you deliver a well-founded contribution to the regional strategy of Yanmar Europe.
    The main purpose is to develop, execute and implement the strategy of the operational departments of Yanmar Europe in alignment with the business objectives of Yanmar and in translating these into long-term operational plans and performance goals for the operations department. Your assignment is to maximize efficiency and productivity and lead your management team (4) in order to realize the agreed results and assure the agreed quality, planning and costs. The Operations Director is responsible for the departments Parts/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Assembly (Marine Engines and Agri Equipment), Warehouse, After Sales Systems, Procurement and Facilities (ca. 100 indirect reports). You report directly to the President of YEU.

    Your profile

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business-engineering or logistics/supply chain. MBA and Lean Black Belt is a plus
    • Successful track record in managing teams (50-100 fte) in an international trading/wholesale organization in the industrial sector
    • Experience in managing all operational processes in an organized manufacturing/assembly environment, including supply chain and procurement
    • Experience with process improvement methods like Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen
    • Proven operational, technical, commercial, managerial and administrative knowledge and skills
    • Strong leadership skills, leading by example, ability to coach & mentor
    • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with employees at all levels within the company and with external parties (e.g., partners, clients, vendors etc.)
    • English, fluent in both spoken and written
