RWE Renewables is looking to recruit an Offshore Consent & Environmental Manager into the Netherlands Offshore Wind Development Team. The post is full-time and permanent.
The role is based in Zwolle/New centrally situated location, however, travel across Netherlands and within some of the Central Europe countries will be required as part of the role on a regular basis and working from outside the office is possible. You will be a core part of the Development team helping to support our projects through the development and construction stages
You will also be expected to take a dynamic and proactive role in supporting the Development Team in strategic environmental matters and consenting consultations. The role will also work closely with the projects leads, projects development managers, bid managers, package managers and the others environmental & consents managers within the group of specific offshore wind projects. The scope of work also encompasses support to adjacent markets including Netherlands, Belgium, Germany.
Full responsibility for offshore consent delivery in order to fulfil auctions criteria, acquire required consents thereafter, discharge offshore consent requirements and marine licence conditions.
Responsible for securing additional environmental consents and licences and processing consent or licence amendments as necessary for construction or survey work.
Lead on consent compliance for offshore, collate and maintain the relevant information and liaise with statutory authorities, package managers and contractors.
Engage in pro-active identification of innovative technology opportunities which could reduce the environmental lifecycle footprint of a windfarm and supporting its commercialization.
Provide expertise into Environmental Monitoring activities during construction and operations.
Responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day management of the offshore environment & consents compliance plan and programme, including delivery of key consents milestones, environmental studies and definition of specific mitigations according to the project characteristics
Develop strong working relationships across the Project to ensure consent requirements are integrated into all relevant contracts and project design and there is continual consent compliance.
Responsible in the implementation of the best practices in respect of the maritime environment in order to advice the projects team on the environmental program that shall be implemented to comply with the specific environmental stakes of the projects
Responsible for offshore consents programme reporting, risk management and budget management.
Procurement and on-going management of offshore environmental consultants and technical specialists required to deliver consents compliance on time and budget.
Knowledge and Skills:
University degree in environmental studies
Demonstrable competence in environment, consenting, licensing or related fields, with specific experience working on offshore wind
Excellent project management skills and experience of managing large projects to tight deadlines
Good communication skills (written and verbal) in Dutch and English and ability to communicate complex technical issues to stakeholders and package manager
Good people management skills
