    Medical-researcher DEvELOP (DEmEntia with Lewy bOdies Project)

    About the role

    As a medical researcher you will, together with a research assistant, take care of the inclusion and follow-up of patients in the DEvELOP cohort. You are responsible for data collection from the patients and data management (CASTOR database). Your research work will focus on analysing longitudinal data (MRI, EEG, Liquor).

    Your main tasks and responsibilities as a medical researcher are:

    • enrolling participants for this project
    • clinical research on the subjects
    • participate in the outpatient clinic of the Alzheimer Centre Amsterdam
    • performing MRI, EEG and liquor analyses
    • writing scientific articles leading to a PhD active participation in scientific meetings, at which one's own results will also be presented.
    • the possibility to periodically participate in services for the department of neurology

    Profile

    We are looking for a medical researcher with the following expertise and experience

    • Demonstrated affinity and experience with scientific research (including experience with statistical analyses)
    • Experience with (neurological) patient care
    • Good communication skills in Dutch and English

    As a person you are independent, pro-active, communicatively strong and organisationally sensitive.

    About the project

    DEvELOP is a longitudinal cohort study of Dementia with Lewy bodies, the second most common form of dementia in the elderly after Alzheimer's disease. DEvELOP started in March 2016 and over120 patients have been included. DEvELOp is affiliated with the Amsterdam Dementia Cohort (>6000 individuals) and the European DLB Consortium. Research questions within this study focus on heterogeneity of the clinical picture, risk profiles for progression, patient outcome measures and biomarker development.
