The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
Manages payroll staff for processing the bi-weekly, monthly and supplemental, multi-state payroll, including garnishments to 700+ employees consistent with local legislation and labor agreements. For the EU region, the countries covered are: The Netherlands, France, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Belgium, UK, Italy, Russia, Singapore.
Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.
Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with local legislation and company requirements.
Monitor compliance with company policies, labor agreements, procedures and regulatory agencies by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Oversee month end and year end closing process payroll including YTD earnings, W-2's, etc.
Review/preparation of accounting journals entries for assigned balance sheet accounts
Monthly review/preparation of account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts
Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
Communicate actively with HR, Payroll Tax and Operations to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
Oversee internal and external audits including: statutory audits, SOX, R&D and workers compensation.
Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly and year end reports.
Assist with various financial and system integration tasks associated with new company acquisitions.
Other projects as assigned by management.
5 + years’ experience minimum.
Experience with SAP, CloudPay, Kronos and Success Factor preferred.
Microsoft Office experience.
Proficient Excel Skills.
Solid analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear. and well documented findings and recommendations.
Working knowledge of internal controls, policies, procedures.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
Proficient in English is essential
