    Manager, Marketing

    Key Responsibilities
    The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:


    STRATEGIC MARKETING ROLE
    • Market research: use primary resources – conferences, customers, leveraging cross functional resources – and secondary resources to analyse markets, understand trends, develop insights for use in the marketing plan
    • Market intelligence: Analyze customer and competitor activity, along with macro drivers. Keep track of the key developing trends and understand impact to the business. Report on findings to support the long-term marketing plan and more tactical decisions (e.g. pricing).
    • Voice of Customer: Stay current with changes and developments in customers’ businesses and products through direct engagement with customers and Kraton's commercial team.
    • Develop communication relationships downstream the value chain to confirm key trends and needs beyond our direct customers.
    • Develop 5 year marketing plan for assigned market segments, and execute in collaboration with Sales, Operations and Technology.
    • Responsible for defining and assessing new market opportunities, capability (product, process, and people) requirements, and business models that will generate new sales
    • Develop and update recommendations for market penetration, based on market segmentation, global supply/demand and trend analyses.
    • Uncover full value potential for Kraton's products in the segment and establish key areas of differentiation relative to in kind and next best alternative competition.
    • Pricing intelligence: develop pricing guidance based on market trends and product positioning.
    SUPPORT / LEAD PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROCESS with marketing insight
    • Lead market assessment as part of Kraton IMPACT stage gate process to define market opening, value proposition, technology and resource requirements, and long term financial return on investment in new applications.
    • Develop product launch plan and support Commercial teams with product launches.
    • Gather and communicate customer feedback, especially regarding product performance and pricing, and build plans to address gaps.
    SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY
    • Responsible for the global Adhesives sustainability strategy and its execution: Assess opportunities and define sustainability roadmap for the business unit
    • Drives the sustainability dialogue between (adhesive?) marketing team and sustainability council
    • Work with regional peers to ensure a consistent regional and market segment sustainability approach
    • Support customer interaction around sustainability topics. Encourage dialogue and critical thinking at customer and within the Kraton team
    SUPPORT MARKETING COMMUNICATION
    • Support Marketing Communications in the execution of social media, PR, content development for various channels (website, brochure) and trade show strategy to drive growth in assigned markets.

    Required Skills
    • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in strategic marketing roles in the chemical industry or an industrial business
    • Strong collaboration skills with experience working effectively with R&D, Commercial sales teams and Corporate Development in a global organization
    • Ability to think strategically and analytically
    • Ability to capture and analyze relevant complex data
    • A passion for sustainability
    • Experience in marketing of sustainability aspects, ideally in a bioplastic environment
    • Ability to understand and manage pricing dynamics / drivers
    • Approachable personality with excellent verbal & written communications skills
    • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and 365 (OneNote, Teams, SharePoint), CRM and PowerBI .
    Education, Certifications & Licenses
    • 4 - 5 years of relevant experience.
    • Bachelors’ degree (or equivalent) required, MBA preferred
