    Manager Finance & Accounting

    Responsibilities of this role include:

    As member of the company’s Management Team you will actively participate in the Managers Meetings which includes discussions about operational topics and decision making, you represent the Accounting function. You liaise with corporate functions and external auditors and internal and external stakeholders. You liaise and build relationships with non-finance managers and external advisers, including auditors, tax advisors, bank, authorities.

    You lead, motivate and manage by example. You are capable to develop and engage your teams‘ skills and talents and you are actively involved in performance management. You provide direction. You steer your team to allow them to achieve their goals. And, you inform and instruct the team on the appropriate compliance regulations.

    Administration, Accounting and Financial Reporting
    You ensure correct and transparent recording of all business transactions in the relevant period. In detail, this includes accounts payables and receivables, financial and cost accounting/financial administration. You are responsible for adequate preparation and filing of periodical financial statements according to local GAAP and IFRS. You are responsible for the annual audit within the deadlines, which means that you liaise closely with relevant departments within the Benelux.

    Internal Controls & Corporate Governance
    You ensure the internal controls in Accounting and that documentation of approval rights are in place. You support adherence to legal or regulatory requirements, also in liaison with the legal-, tax- and compliance officer. Next to that, you coordinate the documentation and periodic review of all local policies.
    You ensure the proper implementation of regulations and you ensure the compliance of the Accounting team with all applying group and local rules and regulations (which includes safety and economic regulations, working hours regulation, policies) as well as defined processes (according to effective regulations/documents).

    Data Management and Process improvements
    You ensure appropriate applications/ tools are used to enable high-quality, sustainable, transparent and efficient reporting processes. You run process improvement initiatives with particular focus on data management and automation and ensuring holistic and integrated approach for data management to enable all down-stream reporting activities, e.g. controlling.

    Last but not least- you ensure the correct registration and declaration of VAT and Wage Tax. In order to achieve this goal, you liaise with external and internal tax counterparts (dedicated tax departments available in NL/ BE).     Department & Team
    You will lead the Finance & Accounting team of 10 professionals, existing from 5 employees GL (including 1 Team Coordinator), 3 employees AP /AR and 2 Process-Orientated employees. We are looking for a data-driven, analytical and conceptual thinking person with a people-focused mindset. You are highly result oriented and capable of convincing others at all levels in the organization.

    Besides, you have:
    • A bachelor or university degree in Finance or Economics, or comparable education
    • Several years of experience in Finance & Controlling with a proven track record of solving functional needs by leveraging the value of data
    • Working experience in a bank organization or financial institute, preferable in a multi-location multicultural environment
    • You have a great understanding in accounting, financial processes at DFS our local market
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English (German is a surplus) and capable of communicating effectively with internal stakeholders up to board level
