The company is in the midst of transforming from a regional and decentralized structure to a more global and centralized operating model based on international business units. This includes the transition to a global ERP platform, shared services and a few regional hubs for the finance processes, as well as a centralised Finance function.
The Manager Accounts Payable falls within Group Financial Control and is a new function with the goal of guiding the team toward a state of the art Accounts Payable function. Due to the transition there are many projects for you to take the lead in, such as integrating the Accounts Payable operations of the French entity as well as managing potential future integrations. These integrations will most likely mean that the team will grow in the future. There will be a strong focus on optimization and automation of processes.
Oversee Hoogwegt’s tax policies and objectives, including the identification and evaluation of tax risks
Analyse current tax processes and systems, design, develop and implement global tax policies and processes across the global business
Ensure implementation of the corporate transfer pricing policy / intercompany recharge process
Together with local tax consultants review and assemble final tax returns and prepare final tax returns and prepare requests for extensions if needed
Manage the VAT calendar and ensure timely submission and payments of VAT
Proactively review and coordinate potential impacts of any local tax changes
Coordinate tax audits (tax authorities, local accounting teams, etc.)
Take ownership of operational tax compliance
Play an active role in global projects
For this opportunity we are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable professional who can build on experience from a highly automated environment. Experience managing a team is considered a plus but Hoogwegt is also open to someone ready to make the step into management.
As Manager Accounts Payable at Hoogwegt you should initiate, take ownership and possess a high level of accountability. You think in solutions, be able to grasp processes and have the ability to motivate and steer others.
Furthermore you have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
5+ years of work experience in a similar role, ideally couples with team management experience
Comprehensive understanding of the Accounts Payable process, concepts, and efficiencies
An analytical mind that can identify problems and provide solutions independently and collaboratively.
Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with vendors, peers, staff, managers, and all other departments in the company.
Keen in identifying and implementing leading practices related to Accounts Payable
A proactive nature with strong communication who can build relationships and is able to deal adequately with resistance.
