You will mainly advise purchasers and project managers on the tendering and contracting of new complex infrastructural offshore projects. You will often be part of a multidisciplinary project team. In the majority of cases, contracts are awarded on the basis of FIDIC.
You will provide broad legal advice, solicited and unsolicited. Your focus is among other things on: - Supervising procurement processes and European tenders; - Advising on contract law and procurement law; - Drafting (English) agreements; - Providing general advice; - Resolving disputes in the field of procurement law and general contract law (more/less work claims of contractors).
Main activities: - Advising buyers, project managers and management in relation to the tendering and contracting of infrastructure works and supply and service contracts; - Drafting, judging and negotiating contracts and other relevant documents; - Supervising and steering the settlement of disputes; - Collaborating with other in-house lawyers and colleagues in the Netherlands and Germany, for example in joint projects, but also with regard to the harmonisation and standardisation of documents and policies.
You are - An academic working and thinking level and a completed study of Dutch law; - A lawyer with at least 10 years of relevant work experience in the field of procurement law and construction law. Experience with the use of FIDIC contracts and/or experience in the offshore sector is preferable; - Excellent knowledge of legislation and regulations, developments and case law in the field of procurement law and construction law; - Creative, pro-active and a practical attitude and good advisory skills and a natural ability to convince; - Flexible and a business enabler (within the legal boundaries) - Good knowlegde of the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing.
