    Lead Buyer Operations

    In a world with limited natural resources and a growing population, the demand for food is constantly rising. Sustainably meeting this demand poses many complicated challenges. As Lead Buyer Operations, you can contribute to our purpose of Feeding the Future by becoming an integral part of the Global Operations Procurement team and optimising our global procurement strategy for CAPEX investment projects.

    What are you going to do?

    As Lead Buyer Operations, you will be part of the Global Operations Procurement team and report to the Procurement Manager Indirect Procurement. You will work closely with the Nutreco Industrial Projects team, which leads all of Nutreco’s major CAPEX investment projects around the world. You will play a key role in these projects, taking responsibility for managing the sourcing process for all non-raw material spend categories (e.g., Manufacturing goods and Facilities).

    On a strategic level, you will deploy sourcing strategies to ensure the procurement within all the projects is aligned and meets our defined standards. Additionally, you will help build and manage relationships with suppliers all over the world, continuously improve the way we work and drive closer alignment with the business when it comes to operations projects.

    You will also work on projects in a more hands-on capacity, supporting an average of three projects at a time. Your involvement in these projects starts with clarifying the necessary specifications, includes the identification of suitable suppliers, the management of timelines and stakeholder expectations, and ends with the successful contracting of a supplier in coordination with the Legal team.

    The Global Operations Procurement team is a tight-knit group of highly skilled and ambitious people. Currently, the team has 9 members, but is expanding steadily. The team boasts a flat hierarchy and open communication culture in addition to its monthly team meetings. Members also enjoys undertaking activities together when regulations allow it.

    We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to structure, organise and prioritise workloads independently. Resilience and the ability to adapt to new situations while reliably performing transactional tasks are also important. Finally, our ideal candidate has reliable negotiation skills, is business-minded and an overall great communicator.

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field
    • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, working on CAPEX projects
      • at multi country or global level
      • in cross-functional teams
      • with supply markets and suppliers
    • Knowledge and experience with category sourcing methodologies, policies, and procedures
    • Experience with change management processes is an advantage
    • Excellent communication skills in English, any other languages are an advantage
