    Junior Scientist - CMC

    About Gadeta

    Gadeta is a clinical stage biotechnology company developing a first-in-class cellular immunotherapy for the treatment of cancer, using a number of proprietary manufacturing and T-cell engineering technologies. The Company is pioneering the development of αβ T-cells engineered to express defined γδ T-cell receptors that can specifically recognize cancer cells, eliminate them, and spare healthy cells. Gadeta has a pipeline of product candidates in development for the treatment of haematologic malignancies and solid tumours.

    Role Summary

    We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Scientist to join the CMC team at our laboratories in the Life Science Incubator in Utrecht. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead the manufacturing process for research studies, both in the production of viral vectors as well as T cell products. You will contribute to the development and optimization of the manufacturing process. If you would like to combine coaching of the manufacturing team with cancer immunotherapy and want to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, then this is the position for you.

    Key responsibilities

    • Being part of and coach the manufacturing team that generates viral vectors and engineered T cells for research studies and facilitating timely delivery of such materials.
    • Drafting study plans for CMC related development studies and overseeing their timely implementation and completion.
    • Analyses of raw data and writing of technical reports to required standards.
    • Presentation of results in company meetings.

    Demonstrated skills and competencies


    • A MSc degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline .
    • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a relevant field, preferably in industrial cell therapy.


    • Lab-based and applied experience in cell (continuous and primary) and tissue culture
    • Experience in viral vector/cell therapy manufacturing
    • Experience in coaching team members is preferred
    • Related biotechnology or industry experience
    • Experience with Good Laboratory Practice is preferred

    Skills/Specialist knowledge

    • Knowledge of and experience in flow cytometry and cell based assays i.e. cytotoxicity, viral titration assay
    • Ability to work independently
    • Excellent planning, organization and communication skills
    • Good leadership capability and a team player
    • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
    • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
