    IT (Area) Lead

    ING is looking for an IT Area Lead for the Core Bank NL Area within Domestic Bank Netherlands Tech.

    As IT Area lead you are responsible to define and implement the IT strategy for your own IT domain in line with the bank’s IT and business strategy and define the IT Strategy of your area. Besides, you’re responsible for the delivery, stability, maturity, security, risk, availability, operations and continuous improvement of your applications or platforms used locally in NL and/or global platforms and applications.

    As the Core Bank IT Area Lead you will be part of the domain of Core Bank & Advisory and you will be accountable for the Account Management System of DBNL, containing the balances and transactions of the Current Accounts, Savings accounts and Consumer Loans of NL. In this domain the availability, performance and integrity of our services is of the upmost importance. Next to this we are still migrating functionality and agreements towards the AMS to simplify our IT Landscape. Further, the IT Area Lead of Core Banking NL is responsible for supporting the QBR process for Core Bank NL, and discuss priorities with the different tribes that consume the services.

    Other challenges are:

    • While changing & moving forward, keep the bank safe, compliant & reliable
    • Further grow the maturity of the teams; further optimize and increase efficiency, output and costs, increase maturity of the engineers overall, increase the frequency of deployments to production etc.
    • Drive the global target discussions, together with other stakeholders, to further standardize and gain scale
    • Manage your IT budget well

    The ITAL of Core Bank NL is responsible to create a balanced team of internals / externals with a good Dreyfus maturity distribution. You will be part of a team with 10 IT Chapterleads that know the drill but rely on you to help them make the next step in their career.

    We are looking for someone who combines senior leadership skills with strong technical knowledge and has preferably experience with packages and vendors, and has a strong delivery profile. You will be working closely with many stakeholders within Domestic Bank Netherlands (DBNL), global business and IT teams, other local countries and vendors so strong stakeholder management needs to be done.

    Other tasks and responsibilities include

    Creating and ensuring an Agile - Customer Centric culture (one Agile way of working)

    • Working with squads in BizDevOps and speaking in one voice with our business colleagues
    • Managing/leading the IT Area with several chapter leads
    • Developing craftsmanship of everyone working in the IT domain
    • Providing high-level strategic guidance to the Chapter Leads on development of engineers in IT Area
    • Improving the engineering maturity in domain, hiring and retaining best engineers and setting an engineering culture.

    Designing and executing the IT strategy Ensuring a safe and compliant bank from an IT perspective (IT custodianship) Having delivery responsibility and responsibility for IT-related decisions within the IT Area, ensuring stability and reliability of the IT Landscape Defining and implementing vendor and sourcing strategy
