These are just a few examples of recent innovation developments. As Innovation Portfolio Manager you ensure that Bunge Loders Croklaan’s innovation projects like these are run efficiently and through standardized portfolio management and methods and tools. The major task is to influence senior management on ways to better drive innovation and value for our customers by critically analyzing the portfolio and financial targets. Major accountabilities include:
Portfolio Management & Analysis: Continuously evaluate the overall portfolio to ensure it fits with the strategy and is well balanced between idea creation and implementation. This position runs the global StageGate process and establishes, tracks, and reports on innovation KPIs.
Project Management Pioneering: Ensure that the project leaders are soundly managing projects through the StageGate process and Gate reviews.
Processes and Systems: Own the portfolio management tools including salesforce.com, tableau and financial systems in close collaboration with Finance and IT. You’ll also define, document, and share best practices for NPD and support and train project managers, cross functional teams, and key stakeholders on the use of new process and systems.
Budgeting: Build and track the global Innovation budgeting process.
What makes this role interesting?
We are a global business with a portfolio of projects of varying scope and complexity. The Portfolio Innovation Manager provides direct guidance for new product innovations handled via the full-rigor StageGate process. Drive the processes and systems that guide project management and implement metrics for the entire portfolio, requiring influence and alignment at all levels of the organization and across geographies. Key collaborators are Regional innovation leaders, global innovation team, VP Innovation, Finance (FP&A) and IT.
Who we are looking for:
Our new colleague is food science innovation enthusiast at the least, with a very strong experience in leading Innovation projects. Highly collaborative and inspirational to others to follow required standards and timelines, makes you a Project Manager at heart! Analytical and financial competence and ability to process and interpret data and having a systems management thinking is required. Having a meaningful influencing role to the leadership team requires that you are an inspirational communicator and able to build good relations across the organization, even as coach and mentor.
At minimum a BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering or related; MBA preferred
An established growth path in the food or related industry; fats & oils industry and experience in similar PMO or innovation project management role is beneficial
Experience working in a global matrixed organization – good English skills. Additional European languages are a plus
