    Job Description:

    Title: In-house lawyer

    FedEx has a position for an ambitious competition lawyer based in Hoofddorp, Amsterdam area, the Netherlands.

    As an addition to our experienced and motivated team of >25 lawyers and compliance specialists at FedEx's International HQ, we are looking for a lawyer with experience and talent in competition law reporting directly to the Managing Director Legal. The competition lawyer will have day-to-day responsibility for, among other things, managing, coordinating, and overseeing compliance with European and national antitrust/competition laws, as well as supporting the Europe Legal function in the implementation and management of related compliance programs.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage ongoing competition law litigation, merger control filings and competition law investigations across Europe;
    • Assist the Legal function, as appropriate, with overall implementation and management of the FedEx Europe competition law compliance program. Develop training materials and provide training on competition law;
    • Remain abreast of laws, regulations, best practices and trends related to FedEx’s compliance programs and government enforcement actions related to competition law and compliance generally. Advise the Managing Director Legal and other members of the Legal team of emerging compliance issues and make recommendations to management as appropriate;
    • Actively provide advice to management and employees in Europe and other international regions on matters of competition law, including information exchange, vertical restraints, abuse of dominance, horizontal cooperation and merger control.

    The ideal candidate will have/be:
    • Legal Master’s Degree from a European University;
    • Fluent in English;
    • In-depth knowledge and significant experience in European and global antitrust/competition law; experience gained both in private practice and in-house with a large multinational corporation is a plus.
    • Knowledge and experience with multinational corporate compliance programs, including experience working with international locations and handling international antitrust/competition-related issues.
    • Excellent organizational, communications and human relations skills.
