    What You Will Accomplish Here…
    The Human Resources Business Partner covers a broad range of HR duties in support of their business unit and location. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

    This position will effectively support the HR team by focusing on the following:

    • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
    • Works with hiring managers to fill vacancies by sourcing, interviewing and identifying internal and external candidates for administrative, technical and managerial positions worldwide
    • Plans and conducts induction/on-boarding/orientation for all new hires
    • Collaborates with business leaders to ensure that they are in compliance with all jurisdictional employment laws and practices that promote equality and equal opportunity and fair treatment through all aspects of employment
    • Ensures that all jurisdictional specific requirements and certifications are met
    • Identifies employee relation issues and works with local management to address and document minor issues as needed
    • Makes recommendations to HR Manager and/or HR Director when there are major employee relations issues on appropriate action and implements once approval is received
    • Monitors and reviews performance appraisals/evaluations, ensuring the content is appropriate and that they are completed in a timely fashion
    • Provides support in the salary and bonus review process
    • Conducts salary benchmarking exercises and utilizes the relevant salary survey data to recommend salary ranges for positions in their locations
    • Submits timely and accurate data to payroll provider(s), as needed
    • Administers all applicable benefits plans and advises employees about these plans
    • Responsible for ensuring all leave is accurately recorded in the appropriate systems
    • Advises Managers and employees about leave program requirements, allotments and issues when necessary
    • Recommends non-technical training for location(s), and once approved, identifies or develops training materials and delivers or arranges delivery of the training
    • Works closely with the GLI Headquarters to recommend and implement Company-wide HR strategies
    • Supports and drives change and culture initiatives in the business
    • Administers all Health & Safety programs which may include assisting with inspection visits, wellness initiatives and ensuring we are compliant with Health &Safety requirements in each jurisdiction
    • Prepares periodic (weekly, monthly and quarterly) reports as directed
    • May completes and submits jurisdictional specific regulatory reports as needed
    • Oversees and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment initiatives and regulations, including the Employment Equity Act and Affirmative Action plans, as assigned.
    • May manage department personnel, including direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, and performance evaluations
    • All other duties as required
    Education, Experience and Skills:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is required
    • Certification, formal training, education or demonstrated competency may be evaluated and considered in lieu of the experience requirements
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a HR Generalist or related position, which must include recruiting and employee relations; Certification, formal training, education or demonstrated competency may be evaluated and considered in lieu of the experience requirements
    • Prior experience working on HR systems including Applicant Tracking, Performance and Learning Management Systems is preferred
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point
    • Must demonstrate the ability to coach and mentor management and employees
    • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position
    • Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with internal and external parties
    • Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines
    • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness
    • Available for 40 hours per week
