    HR Manager

    CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacture and maintenance of modern rolling stock such as (electric) trains, trams and metro's.     Human Resources supports the (mostly technical) employees who are working at one of the four projects in the Netherlands and works closely together with the Spanish HQ located in Beasain.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced hands-on HR professional who can work autonomously and likes to manage the full HR cycle on a strategic, managerial and tactical level in an international, fast paced and complex matrix environment. The HR teams consists of 1 HR Generalist and 2 Health & Safety Engineers. The position reports into the International HR Lead who is located at HQ in Spain. CAF Netherlands has approximately 65 employees and is expected to grow in the future. The startdate is as soon as possible.

    The position
    This dynamic position covers all aspects of the HR cycle, such as organizational design, international talent acquisition & onboarding, expat management, compensation & benefits, training and employee development, performance management, stakeholder management, change management, payroll and absence management. Other responsibilities are:

    • Develop, implement and evolve strategies, people programs, processes, policies, structures and best practices to support and strengthen HR activities.
    • Focus on talent acquisition, onboarding and retention.
    • Manage a small operational team to provide a proactive and effective HR service to all stakeholders in and outside the organization.
    • Work with people managers in both the Netherlands and Spain to identify HR related issues and provide support in finding appropriate solutions.
    • Resolve employee related issues and grievances, recommend appropriate measures and coach employees and people managers where needed.
    • Ensure compliance with the local- & social legislation and the applicable Collective Labor Agreement (Metalektro)
    • Co-ordinate the yearly Performance Management cycle, ensure that all requirements are met within the set time frame and that local training needs are identified and properly managed.
    • Manage monthly and quarterly reporting including KPI´s for headcount, recruitment, absence and overtime as well as forecasts and budgets.
    • Work with HQ in Spain to deliver European HR initiatives such as the employee engagement survey.
    • Build lasting relations with different people at different levels in the organization.

    Education & expertise

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or similar.
    • 8+ years of relevant general HR experience in a senior role in a fast paced international matrix organization, preferably managing a small team.
    • Experience of working within the CLA Metalektro would be an advantage.
    • Excellent communication skills and fluent in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
    • Experience in dealing with all aspects of the HR cycle, from operational employee related topics to working on KPI's and budgets.
    • Knowledge of Dutch labor and social laws and working within a Collective Labor Agreement
    • Knowledge of legal requirements related to the daily management of employees, limiting legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Ability to see the big picture and to provide useful input and strategic advice to the relevant stakeholders
    • Pro-active and practical with the ability to prioritize and dealing with multiple topics at once
    • Experienced in dealing with different kind of employee cases.
