    Head of Engineering

    Development, Utrecht (Netherlands)

    The Role

    We are looking for a passionate Head of Engineering to lead our growing team and accelerate the market adoption of Trengo’s Customer Communication Platform worldwide.

    What your day looks like
    • Make sure the engineering team has enough guidance, coaching, and leadership from your side to be better in what they do and deliver software with even more quality.
    • Grow your team both personally and professionally and create an environment that enables us to attract top talent.
    • Lead architectural and system design initiatives in a fast scaling platform. Build a strong and lean engineering culture that drives standard methodologies.
    • Reporting directly to Marcel, our CTO and working together with Ayden, our head of product to align technology solutions with the product vision to drive customer and business value. Influence our product direction driven by technology trends and innovation together with Lennart and the Engineering team.
    • Accountable for the prioritization of new features by owning the technical effort of the tasks in the backlog.
    • Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organization.
    What we expect

    Now that you know a bit about us, can you tell me a bit about you? I hope you can identify with some of these:

    • You have a strong technical background and a good understanding of current technology trends. Our stack is PHP with Laravel in the backend and JavaScript with VueJs in the frontend. We are more interested in your engineering mindset than your programming experience
    • You were an Experienced developer with hands-on experience in building Saas products in the B2B market.
    • You already managed other managers in tech positions for at least 5 years. Not just on putting people on the path, but dealing with all the growing pains of a scale-up phase.
    • You helped other startups/scale-ups to, at least, double their engineering teams successfully.
    • You are comfortable in managing multiple projects and teams at the same time and you are able to prioritize business value instead of delivering solutions/features a-doc.
    • You have Passion and experience architecting, building and scaling services, cloud-based systems serving millions of users. Experience with continuous delivery focussing on fast release cycles and experimentation while maintaining quality, security standards and actively managing technical debt
    • You have created KPIs and metrics to measure the performance of the product and the impact of the developers.
    • You have strong collaboration skills and experience in partnering closely with product, sales, marketing, and customer success. You understand the business strategy and the impact of new developments in the overall future of Trengo.
    • You have a proven track record of setting up ORKs for Tech Teams and helping other managers to set up them as well.
